"Mom, are the people picking me up here yet?"
Tiana Peyton kept her voice very low, afraid the police and bodyguards at the door would hear something.
"They're already at the hospital entrance. Let's get her onto the hospital bed first."
Tiana Peyton glanced nervously at the doorway, then struggled to lift Hannah Hale onto the bed, covering her completely with the blanket.
Mrs. Peyton took a bank card out of her pocket. "There are five million in here. That should be enough for you to live on for a while. After you get out of the hospital, our people will take you to the airport. Remember, be careful."
"Thanks, Mom. I'll contact you after I'm settled. You take care of yourself, too."
Tiana Peyton took the bank card, pulled a surgical mask from the pocket of her white coat, put it on, and walked toward the door.
With her hands on the doorknob, she took a deep, nervous breath. After opening the door and stepping out, Tiana Peyton kept her head down and walked away quickly.
