Marian Miller took Laura Lowell's hand and had her sit down. Her gaze fell on Laura's exposed collarbone, and she shot a discreet glare at Aiden Shaw before saying cheerfully, "I made you some soup. Go eat in the dining room before it gets cold."
"Mom, you and Ethan should eat something too."
"We've already eaten. Go on, hurry up. And make sure to drink plenty of that soup."
Laura Lowell glanced at Aiden Shaw before heading to the dining room.
After watching Laura leave, Marian Miller lowered her voice and demanded, "Did you and Laura… do something last night? I told you this is a critical time and you have to be extremely careful. Why won't you ever listen?"
"Let me tell you something, Aiden Shaw. If I don't get to meet my granddaughter, you can forget about ever setting foot in the Shaw family home again."
Aiden Shaw raised a hand and pinched the bridge of his nose. Getting lectured and threatened first thing in the morning… 'He'd had enough.'
