Mrs. Grant smiled back and looked at Mr. Ainsworth. "Your two daughters have certainly married into good families. Am I patting myself on the back a little too much?"
Mr. Ainsworth waved his hand dismissively. "Not at all. It's Sharon's good fortune to be able to marry Quentin."
Nora Ainsworth sat on a nearby sofa, feeling a little puzzled. 'Quentin Grant said himself that he wouldn't marry Sharon Ainsworth, so what are he and his parents doing here today?'
At that thought, she lifted her head to look at the one who started it all, only to have her gaze meet his.
She immediately turned her head away. Catching his eye made Nora Ainsworth feel a pang of guilt.
