Cecilia Adler woke with a start. "Ian, when did you get back? Aunt Moss said you left early this morning. What were you up to? You smell a little like alcohol."
When Ian Quincy had woken up, he was in the small workshop. Once he came to his senses, he realized someone had deliberately messed with him. On his way home, he ran into some old high school classmates and had a quick get-together. After arriving home, he first read her letter to catch up on what she'd been doing the past few days. He then grabbed a change of clothes from the side room and took a shower before daring to enter her room to see her.
'She seems thinner after just a few days.'
"I just showered and brushed my teeth twice. You can still smell it?" Ian Quincy lowered his head and sniffed himself.
Cecilia Adler nodded. "Yeah."
"I'll go wash up again," Ian Quincy said. She was pregnant and sensitive to smells, and he couldn't let the scent bother her.
