"Yes," Cecilia Adler responded politely.
"Where did you buy your Claire's clothes? They're quite nice."
Cecilia Adler: "Zenith Plaza, in the west end of the city."
"That's so far."
Cecilia Adler smiled. "I just like to wander around when I'm free. Anyway, we should get going."
"Alright, goodbye."
After saying her goodbyes, Cecilia Adler rode off with her daughter. When they were clear of the crowd, the little girl asked, "Mama, you had those clothes made, so why did you say you bought them? Didn't you tell me not to lie?"
Cecilia Adler was momentarily speechless. After a moment's thought, she said, "Well, if I didn't say I bought them, would I have had to give your clothes to your classmate?"
"No way!"
Cecilia Adler laughed. "Exactly. You're my daughter, so I can have someone make clothes for you. But other children aren't mine. If they don't buy their clothes, who's going to make them?"
"I get it. You have to say things depending on the situation."
