Nearly a month after enrolling, Alek decided to write a letter to Wog. He sat at his dorm desk, carefully selected a clean, flat sheet of paper, and began to write.
"To Wog:
"How's life on the ground? Have you been to the ruins recently? It's probably too dangerous to go alone, so you'd better not. I've found that there are quite a few part-time jobs in the Tower for Apprentices to earn money, like being a research assistant. The pay is pretty good compared to on the ground.
"Of course, the cost of living here isn't cheap either. You have to pay a steep price just to afford bread. Fortunately, the Lord Earl generously sponsored my living expenses. Of course, once I find a part-time job, I'll decline his future assistance.
