"You've been influenced by the Mother Goddess," the voice calling to Rorschach said again. It was Deryats. "What did you see?"
"That the game is over."
"What?"
In his daze, Rorschach found it somewhat amusing. He wasn't sure why the word "game" had slipped out, but Deryats's confused, surprised, and slightly irritated question reminded him of his own mother.
"Gaia is corrupting you, Rorschach. Fortunately, your unique nature prevents Her from being able to digest you. So, the Mother Goddess chose another method: influencing your mind in the hope that you would leave this world of your own accord. If not for the Heart of Thoth, if not for my contingency plan, She would have Exiled you." A voice, ancient beyond measure, echoed in his mind as if from the distant past:
