Ricky Russo walked up behind Noel Lynch. "Do you have any further instructions, sir?"
"Nothing else. You did an excellent job." Noel Lynch clapped his hands in delight. "Carls, this is my final, and best, gift to you. Your wife and child are waiting for you in heaven. Now you can be reunited." Noel Lynch had placed Carls's wife and child under house arrest long ago, when he'd first planned on using him.
"Noel Lynch... you... How dare you kill my family...!" Carls grabbed the gun that had fallen near his hand, but Ricky Russo kicked it away.
"Ricky Russo... I never thought... that you would betray me too." Carls lay in a pool of blood, his eyes vacant. He accepted his fate. He had done evil things his whole life, only to fall at the hands of someone even more wicked and cunning than himself.
"Carls, in a devil's world, there's no such thing as trust. There is only self-interest." Ricky Russo looked down on him condescendingly.
