Shu Feng thought the command, and the Black Dog Illusion Demon immediately rolled over on the ground.
'Activate Possession Mode!'
At Shu Feng's thought, his vision suddenly blurred, and his point of view dropped much lower.
'This is me! This is Possession Mode!'
Shu Feng looked up and saw his own body sitting quietly to one side, its eyes lifeless, like an empty shell.
'It's so hard to move! And hard to attack, too!'
Shu Feng tried to make the Black Dog Illusion Demon walk. He took a few steps, but its body felt indescribably awkward. He tried to run, but after just a few steps, he twisted its ankle and fell to the ground, completely lacking the Black Dog Illusion Demon's natural agility.
'Switching to Dominator Mode!'
With a thought, Shu Feng switched modes, entering Dominator Mode.
In an instant, Shu Feng felt as if he had become a Ghost, residing within the Black Dog Illusion Demon's consciousness. He could share all of the demon's senses and issue any command he wished.
Without the interference of Shu Feng's own consciousness, the Black Dog Illusion Demon's movements were extremely agile. It executed every action with incredible speed, just like a terrifying, Top Level predator.
'Possession Mode, Dominator Mode, and Normal Mode all have their uses. For me right now, though, Normal Mode is the most suitable. After all, in both Possession Mode and Dominator Mode, my physical body is completely defenseless. If someone attacked me, I wouldn't even be able to escape!'
Shu Feng felt a flash of satisfaction as he withdrew from Dominator Mode.
Shu Feng looked at the Black Dog Illusion Demon before him, the corners of his mouth lifting into a gratified smile. "This is my Spiritual Ability! Now I finally feel like a real Spiritualist!"
Before this, even though Shu Feng had awakened as a Spiritualist, his only Spiritual Ability was being able to see Void Demons. In every other respect, he was no different from an ordinary person; any regular adult could have beaten him to a pulp. Now that he had a Black Dog Illusion Demon, he finally possessed the uncanny Spiritual Abilities befitting a Spiritualist.
With a thought, Shu Feng and the Black Dog Illusion Demon left the mysterious base and appeared back in his room.
'My room is too small! When will I make enough money for a bigger place? Then not only could Mom and Dad live more comfortably, I'd also have more space to train.'
The moment Shu Feng appeared in his room with the first Black Dog Illusion Demon he had ever synthesized, he glanced around and was struck by how cramped it was. The Black Dog Illusion Demon could only curl up on his bed.
Wang Juan's voice came from outside the door. "Ah Feng, come out for breakfast!"
"Okay, Mom!"
Shu Feng answered and walked out the door.
On a long, rectangular table sat three bowls of soy milk, a plate of steamed buns, and a plate of fried dough sticks. This was the Shu Family's breakfast.
Shu Feng sat down in his usual spot, picked up his food, and began to eat, carefully observing his parents.
The Black Dog Illusion Demon also came out and sat quietly beside Shu Feng.
Wang Juan complained, "The price of pork went up again! Inflation has been terrible these last few years."
Shu Changsheng said, "It's not so bad. Our wages have gone up these past few years, too. I remember back when I first started working, pork cost pennies a pound, but my salary was only a few dozen bucks a month."
The two of them chatted casually, as if they didn't see the Black Dog Illusion Demon lying quietly beside Shu Feng at all.
'This "Invisible Void Demon" trait is so powerful!' Shu Feng thought excitedly. 'To ordinary people, Void Demons are practically invisible. No wonder it takes Spiritualists to fight them. When an ordinary person faces a Void Demon, even a Top Level special forces operative or a Martial Dao master would be facing near-certain death.'
After finishing breakfast, Shu Feng left home and made a phone call. He then went to a remote street, where he and the Black Dog Illusion Demon waited quietly under a lamppost.
The Black Dog Illusion Demon's muscles suddenly tensed. It turned its head to look down the street to the northwest, sending him a mental impression of approaching danger.
'A Void Demon is approaching?'
Startled, Shu Feng turned to look in that direction. In the distance, he saw Ding Xiaoxue walking toward them. She wore a black martial arts uniform with a Long Sword at her waist, her hair tied back in a single ponytail. She cut a heroic figure, both handsome and beautiful.
When Ding Xiaoxue saw the Black Dog Illusion Demon, her eyes lit up with excitement. She jogged over. "Shu Feng, so this is your Ability! It's incredible! A Void Demon! You can actually control a Void Demon. That's an amazing Ability."
Shu Feng said, "Hei, she's a friend, not an enemy!"
Only then did the Black Dog Illusion Demon sit back down.
Ding Xiaoxue said, "Shu Feng, even though your awakened Spiritual Power Value is a little low, the Ability you awakened is extremely strong. Come on, we need to get you registered as a Demon Tamer."
Shu Feng asked, a confused look on his face, "I have to register?"
"Of course," Ding Xiaoxue said. "If you don't, how would anyone know if this is a wild Void Demon or one under your control? Unless you keep it in a Spirit Binder Ring and only let it out for battle, if another Spiritualist kills it, you'll have no recourse."
Shu Feng asked curiously, "A Spirit Binder Ring? What kind of treasure is that?"
"A Spirit Binder Ring is a type of Extraordinary Treasure that Beast Masters commission from Extraordinary Secret Treasure Masters. It allows them to store the various extraordinary monsters they control inside the ring and release them during battle."
"That way, those Beast Masters can release multiple extraordinary monsters to fight for them," Ding Xiaoxue said.
Shu Feng's eyes lit up as he asked, "How much does a Spirit Binder Ring cost?"
If his Ability had enough resources, Shu Feng could create a large number of extraordinary monsters, which would make a Spirit Binder Ring the perfect Extraordinary Treasure for him.
"The size of the Spirit Binder Ring you need depends on the size and strength of the extraordinary monsters it has to hold, so the price naturally varies."
"A Spirit Binder Ring capable of holding something like a Black Dog Illusion Demon costs about one million, or ten Contribution Points. On the black market, a ring like that would probably go for between three to five million."

Although Shu Feng was confident he could control the Black Dog Illusion Demon, he didn't have enough money to buy a Secret Treasure like a Spirit Binder Ring.
