Inside the Lord's Mansion at Anherel Fortress.
Vincent looked at Allegra in astonishment, then at a middle-aged man sitting at the head of the table. "Allegra, is your father the city lord?"
"What? Didn't I tell you?" Allegra chuckled, her face innocent but her eyes gleaming with cunning. "Master mage, telling you now is just as good!"
Vincent rolled his eyes at this.
"Hello! Mr. Vincent Augustine, thank you for saving my daughter!" The middle-aged man, Allegra's father, Delon Silanri, said with a smile.
Vincent replied neither humbly nor arrogantly, "Lord Delon is too kind! I believe that even without my intervention, someone else would have saved Allegra."
"Hahaha" Delon-Silanri laughed to cover it up, without giving a direct answer. "By the way, I wonder where Mage Vincent's hometown is? Where are your next plans?"
Upon hearing this, Vincent sneered inwardly, "They're already trying to pry into my background."
However, he wasn't angry. Delon was the city lord, but he was also Allegra's father, and he had the right to know the background of anyone who approached his daughter.
"My hometown is in a very far place, and as for the exact location, I can't reveal it to outsiders due to family rules!" Vincent said apologetically.
A thought struck Delon, and recalling his daughter's mention of Vincent's many magic scrolls, he began to speculate wildly. "Could he be a scion of one of those ancient families?"
'Somewhat! Only the scions of ancient families would treat a level seven scroll so casually! Moreover, a magical item capable of forcing a level seven magical beast to sign a master-servant contract is definitely a legendary-grade or higher magical artifact! The forces capable of producing magical equipment of this level must be those ancient families!'
After thinking he had figured it out, Delon laughed and changed the subject.
After chatting for a while, a grand family banquet was held in the city lord's mansion later, where Vincent was treated to a good meal.
After the meal, Allegra came to Vincent again, "Mr. Wizard, shall we go shopping this afternoon?"
"Shopping?" Vincent suddenly had a headache. How did he end up in this world where women also liked shopping?
"What? Doesn't the mage like shopping?" Allegra looked at him timidly.
"Let's go shopping!"
Seeing her pitiful appearance, Vincent's heart softened, and he agreed.
"Wow! The mage is so kind!"
Allegra beamed, showing no trace of her previous pitiful state.
"Uh... I've been tricked!" Vincent said.
With the five-foot Swift Wolf by their side, Vincent and Allegra strolled in the afternoon sun.
Anherel Keep is located near the Anherel Mountains. The main purpose of this fortress is to defend against the orc tribes, goblin tribes, and dark elves from the north.
Meanwhile, another function of this fortress was to serve as a trading center for supplies from the Anherel Mountains.
Adventurer teams and mercenary groups above level nine process their loot in the Anherel Fortress, stay in the city, enjoy their spoils, and then head to the Anherel Mountains to try their luck.
The surrounding streets were crowded with people, who instinctively avoided the two wielding the Swift Gale Wolf. Vincent and Allegra walked side by side in front, with the Swift Gale Wolf following closely behind, playing the role of a loyal and wicked servant.
Seeing the crowd around him avoiding him like the plague, Vincent felt a sense of smugness, like a spoiled young master with a vicious dog roaming through a bustling city!
"Ah! Master, look how amazing this thing is!"
Allegra looked at the soft, white thing in surprise.
"Uh... cotton candy?" Vincent asked in surprise. 'Does this mean there's cotton candy in this world?' How's that possible?
The stall was run by a boy of about sixteen or seventeen, whose youthful face carried a fawning air. "Honorable magician, these are white cloud fruits. They taste wonderful, and they're only one silver coin each!"
"Master, I want this White Cloud Fruit!" Allegra said, her eyes sparkling. She had lived in the city lord's mansion since she was a child and rarely came out.
Even when she goes out, she's always surrounded by a crowd, making it impossible to enjoy shopping!
"Okay, let's buy it then!" Vincent picked up the cloud fruit that looked exactly like a marshmallow and handed it to Allegra, then took one for himself as well.
"Master, I'll eat it!"
A huge wolf head suddenly appeared in front of Vincent, the Gale Wolf drooling as it stared at the White Cloud Fruit. The Gale Wolf was called a Greedy Wolf because it was extremely gluttonous; it wanted to try anything edible.
"Take it!" Vincent tossed a white cloud fruit to the stall. The Swift Wolf opened its big mouth and swallowed the head-sized white cloud fruit in one gulp. Then it looked at the other white cloud fruits on the stall.
"Fool!" Vincent chuckled and scolded, then said, "I'll buy them all! Little brother, you can throw these white cloud fruits to my mount to eat."
"Ah?" The boy looked at the Swift Gale Wolf with trepidation, his expression shifting constantly. Finally, he swallowed hard, mustered his courage, picked up the White Cloud Fruit, and tossed it towards the Swift Gale Wolf.
The Swift Wolf devoured more than twenty white cloud fruits from the stall in the blink of an eye, and then it retreated with satisfaction.
"Honorable Mage, your mount has eaten twenty-six Cloud Fruits. With one for you and one for your esteemed lady, that's a total of two gold coins and eight silver coins." After feeding the Gale Wolf, the young man wiped away a bead of cold sweat and said respectfully.
"Uh..." Vincent suddenly realized that he didn't seem to have any money!
Turning to look at Allegra, it was clear that this city lord's daughter didn't seem to carry any money as well!. So he said, "I don't have any gold coins!"
"Huh?" The boy looked at Vincent in astonishment, clearly very surprised!
"I really don't have any gold coins!" Vincent gave a helpless, bitter smile. "Allegra?"
Allegra looked at Vincent innocently, "Mr. Mage, what do you think?"
"Honorable mage, you won't refuse to pay, will you?" The boy's face flushed red.
Vincent thought for a moment, then took out a scroll from the Endless Void and handed it to the boy, saying, "This is a level seven magic scroll, an earth-based mud spell. It should be enough to offset two gold coins, right?"
"A level seven magic scroll?" A gasp of surprise rippled through the crowd of onlookers, who then turned their gazes toward the scroll with intense interest.
The young man also looked at the scroll with burning eyes, but finally shook his head and said, "Honorable mage, a level seven magic scroll is too valuable. Please take it back!"
"Oh?" Vincent could tell from the reactions of the people around him that the seventh-level magic scroll must be very valuable, and that the young man's character was quite good.
"And what about this?" He took out a level four magical beast core, which was the lowest level item in his Endless Void ring.
"Honorable mage, this is far too valuable!" the young man said, his face flushed.
"But this is the least valuable thing I have. If you don't want it, I have nothing else to give you!" Vincent shrugged.
"This..." The young man hesitated. Those twenty plus white cloud fruits were his entire fortune. If he really ate and dashed, he would have nothing left to eat next.
"Young man, take it! This mage doesn't care about that stuff!" Allegra said with a smile, her eyes narrowing into crescent moons.
"Thank you for your generous gift, esteemed mage!" The boy accepted the magical beast core and bowed his head in gratitude.
After saying goodbye to the boy, Vincent and Allegra headed towards the trading market at Anherel Fortress, with Allegra saying she wanted to take a look.
The trading market was packed with people, filled with shouts and the sounds of haggling. Even as Vincent stepped inside, he felt that familiar magical fluctuation once again!
