Chapter 41 - Lanterns, Laughter, and Fireworks

The summer night air buzzed with excitement as Haru, Chris, and Ichigo stepped out of the car onto the crowded festival grounds. The local night festival—yukata stalls, food vendors, games, and lanterns glowing like fireflies—was in full swing. Strings of paper lanterns hung overhead, casting warm gold light on faces young and old. The smell of takoyaki, cotton candy, and grilled corn wafted everywhere.

Ichigo, in his tiny blue yukata (Chris tied the obi with proud "helper" bows), bounced on his toes, bright brown eyes huge. "Papa! Look! Lights is everywhere! Like stars on ground!"

Haru smiled soft, hand in Ichigo's small one, crown of dad pride invisible but shining. His own yukata—dark navy, simple—was Chris's pick. "Yeah, buddy. First festival night together. Ready for adventure?"

Chris, in light green yukata that made his hazel eyes pop, light brown hair tied back loose, grinned playful. "Born ready. Goldfish scoop first? Or candy apples?"

Ichigo pointed dramatic. "Both! And fireworks!"

They dove in—crowd thick but happy. First stop: goldfish scooping. Ichigo gripped the paper net serious, tongue out concentration. Scoop—miss. Scoop—miss. Chris cheered every try, Haru steadying the bowl.

Finally—splash! Tiny orange fish in bag. Ichigo's face lit like he won Olympics. "I catched one! Name him Dino-Fish!"

Chris laughed, ruffling hair. "Perfect name."

Food next: takoyaki hot and crispy, cotton candy sticking to fingers, yakisoba shared from one plate. Ichigo fed Haru a bite, sauce on chin—family messy perfect.

Games galore: ring toss (Chris won stuffed bear for Ichigo), shooting gallery (Haru nailed prizes—small fan for Chris). Lantern painting stall—Ichigo drew wobbly dino, Haru and Chris adding hearts.

As sky darkened, fireworks time. They found spot on grass, blanket spread. Ichigo between them, head on Haru's lap, Chris's arm around Haru.

First boom—sky exploded color. Ichigo gasped, "Wow! Big flowers!"

Chris leaned Haru. "His face... priceless."

Haru kissed temple. "Ours too."

Fireworks cascaded—reds, golds, blues. Ichigo ooh-ed every burst, clutching new bear.

Show end, crowd thinning. Walk home slow—Ichigo sleepy on Haru's shoulders, festival bag of prizes swinging.

Apartment quiet, Ichigo out fast—yukata folded careful, Dino-Fish bowl on nightstand.

Living room dim, lanterns glow memory. Chris pulled Haru close. "Best night."

Haru arm tight. "With you two? Always."

Kiss started soft—festival joy lingering. Turned heated quick. Chris backed Haru to wall, lips hungry. Tongues brushed urgent, breaths ragged.

Yukata ties loosened slow—fabric sliding open, skin warm. Shirts under shed—Chris's lifted, Haru's unbuttoned teasing. Skin met hot, slim pressing medium.

Haru lifted Chris gentle, carrying bedroom. Laid down soft, mouth neck—kissing slow, nipping gentle festival marks. Chris arched, gasp breathy, grinding instinctive.

Remaining clothes pushed away impatient. Bare, sweat-slick summer warmth. Bodies aligned—Haru's hand wrapping firm, stroking rhythm rolls. Chris bucked, moans soft, legs tight.

Haru's free hand traced thigh, deepening friction. Pleasure coiled intense—eyes locked, hazel fireworks memory, brown full love. Whispers: "Magical night," Chris panted; "With you," Haru husky.

Climax shared—Chris tensing beautiful, release crashing muffled cry. Haru followed, shuddering deep.

Tangled after, breaths evening. Chris smiled lazy. "Festival high best."

Haru kissed temple. "Every day with you."

Morning routine: pancakes retelling fireworks, Ichigo "Dino-Fish" updates. Festival memories etched—first night magic, family love big.
