Morning light was pale and weak over Castle Black. Smoke still rose from the tunnel where wights had burned. Robert Baratheon sat at the head of a long table in the Solar. He was still wearing his blood-crusted armor. Ned Stark sat to his right. Jaime Lannister stood by the hearth while warming his hands.
[Status Alert: Strategic Phase Initiated]
[Health 82 percent]
[Stamina 60 percent]
[New Feature: Tactical Map Unlocked]
"We cannot just sit behind this pile of ice," Robert growled. He slammed a heavy fist onto a map of the Haunted Forest. "They hit us and ran. I want to hit them back. I want to see what is leading them."
"Robert, the men are tired," Ned said softly. "The Northmen are used to cold but even they have never seen dead that walk. We need to scout before we commit a full host to the trees."
"I did not bring five thousand men north to wait for scouts, Ned!" Robert barked.
Link stepped toward the table. His System pulsed. A blue light projected a shimmering overlay onto the parchment map. It showed heat signatures and troop movements that no scout could have seen.
[Tactical Overlay: Enemy gathering at the Fist of the First Men]
[Warning: High Magic Concentration detected]
"The King is right about one thing," Link said. He pointed to a spot on the map. "They are not retreating. They are massing at the Fist. If we wait, they will grow their numbers with every wildling village they slaughter."
Jaime looked at the glowing blue projection with narrowed eyes. "How does your magic work, boy? You see things before they happen. You see maps that are not there."
"It does not matter how it works, Ser Jaime," Link replied. "What matters is that the Night King is waiting. He wants us to charge blindly. He wants more corpses for his army."
"The Night King," Jon Snow whispered from the corner of the room. "The Old Bear says he is a myth."
"Myth just tried to break your gate, Snow," Jaime retorted.
Robert leaned over the map. "If they are at the Fist, we can circle them. We take the cavalry through the valley and the brothers of the Watch through the high passes."
"It is a trap, Your Grace," Link warned. "They have giants. They have things that fly in the dark. We need dragonglass. Standard steel will not be enough for a full battle."
[Quest Update: The Frozen Forge]
[Objective: Find the cache of dragonglass at the Fist]
"Then we go and get it," Robert said while reaching for his hammer. "Link, you lead the vanguard. Ned, you take the center. We move out at noon."
Ned looked at Link with worry. "You have not slept in two days."
"I will sleep when the sun stays up," Link said.

Link felt the cold of the room deepen. The System was vibrating. Something was coming that was not on the map.
