Chapter 30: New House

"What do you think? Not bad, huh?" Morgan observed Harry as he tried on his new robes.

"Mmm, yes. I like this fabric. Very soft, but it also feels sturdy," Harry commented while running his fingers over its surface.

The robes Morgan had given him were black and grey. Subtle, but also elegant.

"That is acromantula silk. One of the best materials we have available to make dressing robes. For combat robes, I will have to order them to be custom-made for you. Luckily, I believe I still have some leftover leather from a black dragon."

"Dragons are still around?" Harry sounded surprised. "I assumed that they had gone extinct by now, considering that humans are unaware of the existence of anything that is magical in nature."

"Wild dragons are considered extinct, yes. But we still have a few reserves here and there," Morgan responded.

He took off his glasses for a moment. "I guess this is the only thing left of the old Harry. They are very worn out…" There was a clear crack across the glass, and the frame looked dirty and old.

"Forget about those. Just fix your eyesight… surely, the great Merlin can do that much," Morgan said with a hint of sarcasm.

Harry glanced at her. "Of course I can." He put his glasses back on. "I just have other priorities. My eyes can wait for a bit."

Morgan looked around her room. "I suppose you will need a place to sleep. This is the last time I let you into my bedroom, after all."

Harry chuckled. He was about to make a spicy joke about how they were former lovers, but seeing the expression on Morgan's face, he decided that this course of action would only end up in pain.

"You have been most accommodating with me, Morgan. I didn't expect nearly this much when I discovered you were still around," Harry ended up saying instead.

"Don't get it wrong, Merlin. I am expecting you to repay this favor in full. The sooner I get you back on your feet, the sooner you will be useful to me."

Harry grinned. What he found funny was seeing her try to act like the old Morgan he once knew, but he could tell that a lot of her edges had been softened over all this time.

"Of course. I will free you of those chains as soon as I get my old tools back. I also need to practice my magic once more. This is a new body, and its magic is still raw and unrefined… but I can tell it has a lot of potential."

"It's kinda weird to hear you talk like that about your own body," Morgan pointed out.

"So it is," Harry chuckled. "And yet it is how I feel at the moment. One moment, I was a young boy, trapped in a house with an awful family who had strange dreams and knew nothing of magic, and then I was… Merlin, the Sorcerer from Camelot. I still feel a bit like two people occupying the same body."

"That's weird…" Morgan muttered. "Then again, you have never been normal."

Harry finished dressing and collected the rest of the clothes that Morgan had prepared for him, placing them inside a large bag.

"So, if I'm not staying in your room, where would I be sleeping for the time being?"

One day, he would like to remake something resembling his old magical tower; however, right now, he was aware of his sensitive situation.

People were looking for the missing Harry Potter all over London, and he did not want to be found by them.

Harry had not forgotten that short encounter he had with the old wizard called Albus Dumbledore and how he had used a spell to block his memories.

Until he regained the use of his full abilities and was confident in facing these new wizards and witches, it was better for him to cooperate with Morgan so they could help each other.

"We can make use of the house next door. I can create a secure connection between that house and my shop. I have done it already in the past."

She stood up from her bed. "No one has used that house in almost a century, so it may need some cleaning."

Harry glanced at her with suspicion. "Some cleaning?"

Morgan winked at him. "Don't worry. I'll get you a broom."

"I thought she was jesting…" Harry looked around his new 'home'.

It was a small house with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room.

More than enough for himself, but as expected, it was all extremely dirty, and the furniture appeared to be ready to collapse into dust with a mere touch.

Morgan had left him to fend for himself with a broom, a bucket, and a thin book that contained some household spells.

Harry sighed and went to open a window.

"Urgg!" As soon as he did that and a gust of air ventured into the house, he was assaulted by a cloud of dust that emerged from the old curtains.

"Curses! I shall not be defeated by dust!" Harry proclaimed.

He turned around and went to pick up the thin book before reading it close to the window frame, because it was the only part of the house that now had a bit of natural light.

"Are these really spells?" Harry was surprised to find that someone would spend time creating spells for the purpose of keeping a house clean and organized.

"Well… I suppose they would come in handy now."

In the past, he had servants and apprentices who would take care of such menial tasks.

"Mmm… let's see." He began reading.

The magic appeared to be simple enough, but it was obviously designed to be used with the assistance of one of those wands, something that he did not have.

"No matter." Harry clenched his fists, and his eyes became filled with determination.

He never ran away from a challenge and was not about to start now.

"If I can't get this done without the assistance of one of those sticks, I am not worthy of calling myself a legendary sorcerer."
