After the waiter left, Hasan began speaking again. "Your dad told me about you," he said calmly. "I'm in no hurry to get married. Let's spend some time together, meet, and get to know each other." š£
His words felt like a comfort to Anisa. "That's good," she said softly.
"You know⦠about my past. That I'm a widow," she added. š
Hasan smiled slightly and looked at her. "I know. That's not a problem for me at all," he said, steering the conversation elsewhere. "But⦠how old are you?"
"I'll be 36 this year," she replied, observing him subtly. š
"You're older than me, right?"
"Yes," he answered with a smile. "I'm 39." š
"Dad said you're a pilotā¦" she said, unable to think of anything else to say.
"Yes," Hasan replied simply. "I've been working as a pilot for about 14 years now."
At that moment, the waiter arrived with the vanilla ice creams they had ordered. Their conversation paused for a bit as they both began tasting the ice cream. š
The evening sky was painted in beautiful shades of orange and pink, adding a unique beauty to the surroundings of the cafƩ.
After a little while, Hasan addressed Anisa again. "You have⦠a bit of ice cream around your mouth," he said, smiling as he looked at her face. š¦
"Where?" she asked, trying to wipe her mouth with her hand.
"It's still there," Hasan said, picking up a napkin.
As he leaned towards her, Anisa could even feel his breath. At the same time, her heart began to beat at an unusual pace. While Hasan carefully wiped around her mouth with the napkin, Anisa held her breath and endured the moment. š¤Æ
After finishing the task, he sat back in his seat as if nothing had happened.
"Thank you," Anisa said softly. š
After that, they spent time chatting lightly about various things. Before darkness fell, they bid each other a friendly farewell and went their separate ways to their respective homes.
But in Anisa's mind⦠that meeting didn't settle simply as just a casual encounter. š
