The next morning arrived. Anisa planned to leave that evening. She had only told Yugh she was taking two days, so returning to work was necessary. đ
After washing up, she left her room and headed to the living room. Her father was on the sofa, and the sounds from the kitchen confirmed her mother was there.
"Good morning, Dad," she said, sitting opposite him.
"Good morning,daughter," he replied without looking up from his newspaper. đ
The silence that followed felt heavy to Anisa.
"DadâŠI'm leaving this evening," she finally said, breaking the quiet.
"Alright, daughter. You have work," he said.
"ButâŠhave you thought about it at all?" đ
"About what, Dad?" Anisa asked, feigning innocence.
"About Hasan,the boyâŠ" he clarified.
"Ah⊠that," she said, letting out a soft sigh and looking down. "Do what you think is best, Dad. I agree." đ
Her father immediately put the paper down and looked at her. "Why are you saying it like that, daughter? Do you truly want this? We won't force you into something you dislike." His voice was full of genuine concern.
Just then, Kirana, ready to leave for work, bid them a quick goodbye and left the house. Once she was gone, Anisa turned back to her father. đ
"Dad⊠last time, I went against you and married Zayan," she said, her voice slow and deliberate. "But⊠I was wrong. So this time⊠I agree with the decision you make."
Though her voice sounded resolute, she herself wasn't sure if her heart was truly in agreement. â
Her father took a deep breath, set the paper aside completely, and looked at her. "Alright then, daughter. I'll let their family know," he said. "You can meet them afterwards."
Anisa nodded, but a strange emptiness was spreading inside her. đ
Later, they went together to have breakfast in the kitchen.
