Chapter 4 - THE SHIFT IN PERCEPTION

Min-woo sat in the dimly lit study, surrounded by the opulent decor of the Lee family's estate. He stared at Sophia, who was sitting on the couch, her eyes vacant and unresponsive. He had grown accustomed to her condition, but the sight of her still sent a pang of guilt through his chest.

But as he looked at her, something shifted inside him. He saw the way her hair hung limp and lifeless, the way her eyes seemed to stare into nothingness. He saw the way her once-beautiful face was now marred by scars and bruises.

And something inside him stirred. A sense of revulsion, of distaste. He tried to shake it off, telling himself that he was just tired, that he was just stressed. But the feeling persisted.

As he watched Sophia, he couldn't help but think about how much she had changed. She was no longer the vibrant, intelligent, and witty woman he had fallen in love with. She was a shadow of her former self, a mere puppet of her former life.

Min-woo's eyes narrowed as he looked at her. He had been so caught up in his own plans, his own ambitions, that he had forgotten what he had really wanted from her. He had wanted her fortune, her power, her status. But now, as he looked at her, he wondered if it was all worth it.

And then, something inside him snapped. He realized that he had been playing a role, pretending to be something he was not. He had been pretending to be a loving caregiver, a devoted partner. But the truth was, he was just using her, just like everyone else in her life.

As he looked at Sophia, he felt a wave of disgust wash over him. He tried to push it away, but it only grew stronger. He saw her as a burden, a weight around his neck. He saw her as a means to an end, a way to get what he wanted.

And he knew that he had to get out. He had to get away from her, from this life, from the guilt and the shame that was eating away at him.

But as he looked at Sophia, he saw something that made his heart skip a beat. She was looking at him, her eyes focused and clear. She was looking at him with a sense of recognition, of understanding.

And Min-woo's heart sank. He knew that he was trapped, trapped in this life, trapped in his own deceit.

As the days went by, Min-woo's behavior towards Sophia changed. He was colder, more distant. He barely spoke to her, barely looked at her. He went through the motions, playing the role of the devoted caregiver, but inside, he was seething.

Sophia, however, didn't seem to notice. She was still trapped in her own world, still struggling to come to terms with her condition. She didn't see the change in Min-woo, didn't see the disgust in his eyes.

And Min-woo was glad. He was glad that she didn't see, that she didn't know. He was glad that he could keep up the charade, that he could keep his true feelings hidden.

But as he looked at Sophia, he knew that he was living a lie. He knew that he was trapped in a life that was not his own, trapped in a web of deceit and betrayal.

And he knew that he had to get out, no matter what it took.

As the days turned into weeks, Min-woo's behavior towards Sophia continued to deteriorate. He was short with her, impatient. He barely fed her, barely bathed her. He left her sitting in her own filth, staring into space.

And Sophia, still trapped in her own world, didn't seem to notice. She didn't seem to care.

But Min-woo knew that he was playing with fire. He knew that if Sophia ever recovered, if she ever regained her memories, she would see him for what he was. She would see the monster he had become.

And he knew that he would be lost, lost in a world of his own making.

As the days went by, Min-woo's grip on reality began to slip. He was drinking more, sleeping less. He was a ticking time bomb, waiting to explode.

And Sophia, still sitting on the couch, still staring into space, was the fuse that would set him off.

Min-woo's eyes narrowed as he looked at her. He saw her as a monster, a monster that was slowly driving him mad. He saw her as a weight, a weight that he could no longer bear.

And as he looked at her, he knew that he had reached the end of the line. He knew that he had to get out, no matter what it took.

The question was, what would he do? Would he take the easy way out, or would he take the path of destruction?

Only time would tell.

As the days went by, the tension in the house grew. Min-woo was on edge, always looking over his shoulder. He was waiting for the other shoe to drop, waiting for Sophia to wake up and see him for what he was.

And Sophia, still trapped in her own world, was the only one who didn't seem to notice.

But as the days turned into weeks, Min-woo knew that he couldn't keep up the charade forever. He knew that he had to make a move, had to take control.

And as he looked at Sophia, he knew that he would stop at nothing to get what he wanted.

The game was on, and Min-woo was playing to win.

As the clock ticked away, Min-woo's mind was racing. He was thinking of all the ways he could get out of this situation, all the ways he could get what he wanted.

And as he looked at Sophia, he knew that he would do whatever it took. He would do whatever it took to get her fortune, to get her power.

The end justifies the means, and Min-woo was willing to do whatever it took to win.

As the days went by, Min-woo's behavior towards Sophia continued to deteriorate. He was cruel, heartless. He was a monster, and Sophia was his prisoner.

And as he looked at her, he knew that he had lost all sense of humanity. He had lost all sense of right and wrong.

He was a man consumed by ambition, consumed by greed.

And he would stop at nothing to get what he wanted.

The clock was ticking, and Min-woo was running out of time. He had to make a move, had to take control.

And as he looked at Sophia, he knew that he would do whatever it took. He would do whatever it took to win.

The game was on, and Min-woo was playing to win.
