Xenia's Pov :
Fiena burst's out laughing and i see Jude's expression darkening from the corner of my eyes.
"Hmm.Let's say,i brought my first ever pet dog but it hurt itself because i have an habit of leaving sharp thing's open after using them.Now tell aunty is it because aunty is stupid?"I ask gently and he look's down with a frown as if pondering on that question hard.
"Aunty isn't stupid.Aunty has never kept a pet before so she doesn't know about its habit's."He say's and i smile as he pauses before continuing ."But Aunty is also careless because she should have paid more attention to the dog's presence."
Interesting..
This child..is quite sharp and intelligent for his age.
"Yes that's also right.Jude was careless because she has never raised a kid.But it's also wrong of you to call her stupid.After all,she brought you to her home to help you."I say and he stares at me for a few seconds before turning towards Jude."I am sorry Aunty."
"What an obediently little child!"I find myself saying as i caress his head gently.
"It-It's okay..Aunty is sorry too!"Jude say's looking shocked as she gives me a thumb's up."You actually tamed this little beast!"
"What's your name kid?"Fiena asks kneeling down in front of him.
He look's at her head and frown's,quickly stepping close to me and desperately grabbing my leg with both of his hand's."Mommy,did a flamingo throw up on her head?"
I freeze between laughing and getting shocked."Wait?Mommy?I am not your mommy child."I say looking down at him.
He frown's in displeasure and holds onto my leg tightly with both hand's."But daddy said my mommy will be whoever i want to be my mommy.My daddy never lies!"
I want to cry but have no tear's as i look down at his innocent face."Just where did you get him from?"I ask Jude,who also looks a little caught of guard.
"In front of the City Mall.He was all alone there."
"Now that i look at him..he look's a little familiar."Fiena say's frowning.
"Mommy..Eli is hungry..Aunty didn't feed me anything."He say's rubbing his face against my thigh like a spoiled brat and i stand there frozen.
"Sister..let's just pout up with him for now.He is a child,arguing with him wont work.Tomorrow i will take him to the police station."Jude whispers and i pursue my lip's as i look down at him.
My heart swell's with an emotion i thought i lost year's ago.Perhaps..he would have also been like this child if he was alive today.
"Eli?Is this your name?"i ask and he nod's cutely.I smile and ruffle his hair."Stay with aunty Fiena here.I will get you something to eat."
He let's go of my leg looking reluctant and takes Fiena'e hand obediently,who takes him towards the couch.
"Mom and dad aren't coming back until Friday.We have to take care of him tomorrow otherwise we are done for."I say making a quick sandwich for Eli.
"Mom will definitely throw me out if she finds out about him."She say's looking nervous and i snicker."You just remember this?"
"I couldn't leave him alone there.."She say's looking sad and i ruffle her hair gently."I know,you did good Jude.I am proud of you."
She say's happily like a small puppy.If she had a tail it would be wiggling around right now.
"Take these to him.I am going to take a shower."I say handing her the plate and a glass of milk before going to towards my room.
"Sis..I don't know why..i remembered the first time i saw you thirteen years ago when i saw him..He..reminded me of you."Jude say's suddenly,making my heart skip a beat.
I stop for a second before going towards my room like nothing happened.
Remind her of..me?
When i first met my adoptive family?I remember wearing a worn out dress and looking weak..scared..weary of how my adoptive family would be.
Would they love me?Hate me?Take me as their own?
Was Eli also scared when Jude found him?Was he..also abandoned?
My heart squeezes painfully at the thought of someone abandoning such a cute and obedient child.
It didn't seem that case from his clothes and appearance.Hopefully,Jude will get him back to his family tomorrow.
