Chapter 23 - Chapter 21—What the future holds

Creak! Creak! Creak!

"Mmh! Mh!"

Hidden within the deep shadows of the room, Sunny and Cassie continued to make love beneath the tangled sheets. They lay on their sides, their bodies intimately joined, tongues intertwining as they exchanged relentless, insatiable kisses. They held each other tightly. His right hand possessed her soft, heavy breast, squeezing and kneading the generous flesh that spilled over his palm as if he wanted to devour her.

Below, Sunny relentlessly drove his hips forward, burying himself deep inside her. Cassie's core was overflowing with his seed and their mingled juices, yet judging by the firm, scalding grip clamping around him, she couldn't seem to get enough of him.

Creak! Creak! Creak! Creak! Creak!

"Mmmh! Aaah!!!"

Sunny came inside Cassie once again, and she squeezed her walls around him as if trying to milk every last drop. The blind seer then rolled him onto his back, straddling his hips without ever breaking their connection.

Sunny felt the sweet, heavy pressure of her body as she kissed him passionately. In this position, his erection sank even deeper into her womb. Straightening her back, Cassie looked down at him with an angelic smile and eyes overflowing with sheer, unadulterated affection, before she began to ride him.

"Ah! Ah! Ah!"

Creak! Creak! Creak!

Her sweet, high-pitched moans chimed like silver bells, filling a room that had already witnessed so much. Sunny gripped her hips, anchoring her to the mattress as he thrust up to meet her downward rhythm. After Cassie's initial pain and fear, their bodies now slotted together perfectly, as if they were two halves of a single soul finally reuniting. She engulfed him in her scalding softness, her walls visibly pulsing and contracting around his throbbing length, sending fierce, mutual shocks of pleasure shooting up their spines and wiping their minds blank.

Creak! Creak! Creak!

"Ah! Ah! Aaah!!!"

With one final, breathless cry, Cassie threw her head back and shattered once more. Sunny released his final surge, filling her to the brim with his seed, permanently branding her with his essence.

"Hah... hah..."

The blind seer collapsed against his chest, affectionately rubbing her cheek against his skin in search of warmth. As they struggled to catch their breath, Sunny gently stroked her hair, anchoring her to him, just needing to feel her close.

Their eyes met—her unseeing, sapphire-blue gaze locking onto his deep, dark one. Their scents and fluids mingled; the sheets beneath them were a ruined mess, and their legs ached from the intense, prolonged exertion. Outside, the sky over the Forgotten Shore held no stars, but the night was still young.

Cassie moved her lips, shaping words with such delicate love that they were barely distinguishable from the soft exhale of her breath. Yet, watching the movement of her lips, one could easily read: "I love you."

After that, the blind seer buried her face in his bare chest and peacefully drifted off to sleep. Her golden hair spilled over him like a second blanket. Sunny watched her affectionately for a long moment before finally letting his head hit the pillow. He shifted his gaze to the ceiling, slowly closing his eyes and letting sleep overtake him.

'I love you too,' he would have said, had he possessed any strength left to speak.

And so, the two lovers fell into a deep slumber.

...

Drip. Drip.

"Hah... hah..."

Meanwhile, just outside their bedroom door—which had been left slightly ajar at some point—the heavy, ragged breathing of a tall, athletic young woman echoed in the hallway.

"Hah... Gods! Hah... I thought Doofus and Dolly were never going to stop."

Effie was sitting on the floor in a deep squat, her back pressed against the wall right beside the door crack, using her bent legs to leverage her weight. Her splendid, long brown hair was completely undone and plastered to her skin with sweat. Her hazel eyes were blown wide, dilated and hazy with raw arousal.

Her velvety olive skin was slick with perspiration. One hand aggressively cupped her enormous right breast, her thumb and index finger pinching and rolling the hardened peak. Her other hand had long since slipped beneath her waistband, laying bare her needy, soaking wet center. Her fingers were practically cramping from how furiously she was rubbing her clit and slick folds, which were twitching on the verge of climax. A steady stream of clear nectar dripped down, pooling on the floor beneath her, mixing with her sweat.

"Hah... hah..."

The huntress Athena, for the first time in a very long while, was completely out of sarcastic remarks. When her sharp instincts had woken her a few hours ago, warning her that someone had snuck into her house, she had been surprised to find it was Sunless. She was even more shocked to track him to Cassie's room.

'Wait! Since when the hell am I a voyeur?'

He had used a Memory to soundproof the room, so Effie hadn't been able to hear them from here. But when she had crept up and pushed the door open just a crack to peek inside, her jaw had practically hit the floor seeing them get down to business. For a fleeting second, her twisted mind had actually considered barging in to catch them red-handed and tease them to death. But then, things had gotten incredibly spicy. Cassie had started sucking Sunless's cock, and then the treacherous bastard had gone down on her, eating her out like a starving beast.

Before she even realized what she was doing, Effie's hand had slipped down to her own crotch, freeing her aching sex to the cool air, and she had started furiously masturbating while watching them. Then, her other ravenous hand had shot up to her chest, ruthlessly squeezing her heavy breast. Cassie was so sweet and innocent, while Sunny seemed experienced yet so agonizingly gentle, terrified of hurting her. Effie was no stranger to sex, but watching two souls so pure, yet so deeply scarred, physically bind themselves to one another had awakened a deep perversion in her that she never knew she possessed.

It made her feel terribly ashamed... yet so unbelievably turned on.

Squish. Squish.

"Ah! Ah!"

Sunny and Cassie had finished, but Effie wasn't done. As soon as she caught her breath, she resumed furiously rubbing her slick entrance, her juices soaking her fingers. The hand that had been tormenting her breast flew up to clamp over her own mouth to muffle her moans so she wouldn't wake anyone else, leaving her massive, plump breast bare and bouncing for anyone passing by to see.

"Mmmh!"

Effie shattered in another violent climax. Then...

Thud.

Her ass hit the floor as her leg muscles finally gave out, aching from the weight and the sheer exhaustion of her orgasm. She collapsed into her own puddle, soaking her white tunic and her soft, shapely thighs with her essence. Her inner walls continued to spasm with aftershocks, releasing a fresh wave of liquid.

"Hah... hah..."

Her tongue hung out slightly, panting like a parched dog in the heat as she tried to recover her breath.

After a while...

'Hell! What the fuck did I just do?'

Reality crashed down on her the moment the burning haze of lust finally faded, leaving behind the crushing weight of her voyeuristic actions. Effie buried her hands in her messy hair, violently shaking her head and groaning in sheer mortification, desperately trying to banish the images from her mind.

'Nobody must ever find out about this,' she swore to herself.

After that, making absolutely sure no one had seen her and that Cassie and Sunny were truly asleep, she carefully closed their door and swiftly, silently scurried back to her room. As an expert huntress of the Dark City, Effie knew exactly how to move without making a sound. But she never expected the day would come when she'd use her elite stealth skills for something so utterly pathetic—or at the very least, for some vulgar jokes.

As soon as she hit her bed, Effie cocooned herself in her blankets and tried to force herself back to sleep. She prayed that everything she had just witnessed was just a bad dream, or some weird hallucination caused by a passing Nightmare Creature in the Dark City. However, the relentless, throbbing ache between her legs made it impossible to close her eyes. She was still soaking wet. But more than anything, a deep, gnawing jealousy twisted in her gut; she desperately craved what Cassie and Sunny had shared that night.

***

Morning came. Rays of pale sunlight pierced through the window glass, striking Sunny's closed eyelids.

He opened his eyes, waking to a pleasant, grounding weight on his abdomen and a splendid warmth enveloping him. Lowering his gaze, still blurry and half-closed from sleep, he saw Cassie.

The blind seer was still fast asleep on top of him, embracing him affectionately with her face resting flush against his bare chest. A serene smile curved her small, delicate lips, and her faint, gentle breaths tickled his skin. A profoundly soothing sensation—like a massive boulder finally being lifted from his soul—warmed his chest.

Then... Sunny let his head fall back against the pillow and sighed. Slowly.

'Now what?'

The question arose spontaneously. Saint had told him to use this second chance he had been given to resolve all his matters of the heart from his previous timeline. However, he couldn't help but wonder now: where will all this lead me?

After clearing things up with Saint herself, and her practically pushing him into the arms of other women... First, he had resolved his dilemma with Seishan, and now he had mended that agonizing, heartbreaking wound between him and Cassie before it could even truly fester. What came next?

Morgan? Jet? The other Blood Sisters as well? Will he try again with Nephis?

'Is this really the life I want to lead from now on? Now that I've won my freedom from the [Shadow Bond]? From Nephis?'

Sunny took advantage of the quiet dawn and the clarity of his freshly awakened mind to reflect on it carefully.

Did he truly desire a life surrounded by luxury, the most beautiful women, and absolute hegemony?

'Fuck yes, I do! Who am I trying to fool?'

It didn't take him long to find his answer. After all, before everything, he was just a street rat fighting desperately every single day to survive in the Outskirts of NQSC, never even certain he'd live to see the next dawn. So, if anyone had asked Sunny if he wanted a life completely opposite to the hell he had endured for sixteen years, the answer would always be the same.

Yes.

But that wasn't his real dilemma. Not the luxury. Not the wealth, nor the prospect of a free life in utter prosperity. Rather...

'What will the others think?'

Sunny absolutely didn't want to hurt his companions, or those who might become his companions in the future. Assuming there would be others, though the chances were remarkably high. Recently, Aiko's advances had become increasingly difficult to ignore, and his whole act of playing the naive, inexperienced boy when it came to matters of the flesh wouldn't protect him forever.

From the very beginning, he had made things clear with Seishan and Aiko, telling them the truth, but neither of them seemed the least bit shaken by it—or at least, not on the surface. Saint was literally the mastermind behind this libertine path of his, so she needed no explanations. And yet, the very thought of making them cry tormented him.

'I love them. Each and every one of them, and I want to be happy with them by my side. All of them. Even the ones who are yet to come.'

Sunny declared inwardly, reinforcing his own conviction. After all, he was treacherous by nature, so why not forge that very trait into a weapon to temper his own will?

'Besides, she always says it... if this is my will, who dares to stop me?'

A melancholic smile graced his lips. His right hand reached up to grasp a phantom that had appeared before his eyes as he stared at the ceiling, lost in thought. However, there was no true sentiment behind the gesture, no real desire to catch the illusion—only the need to wave away the memory of what had been, and what perhaps could have been.

That done, Sunny lowered his head slightly, looking down at Cassie, who was still dreaming sweetly on top of him. Her golden hair shone in the morning light, brighter than he had ever seen it. She looked so incredibly sweet in that moment.

'I will take care of you, just as I will take care of all of you. I promise.'

He thought, gently running a hand through her silky hair, careful not to wake her.

There was also another matter that demanded Sunny's attention, both now and for the future. Namely, the new specifications of his [Shadow Bond].

---

[Shadow Bond] Ability Description: [Find worthy companions and let them know your True Name. Once they recite it out loud, should you desire it, they shall be bound to you through thick and thin. They will receive your blessing and unconditionally crave your affection. It is improper for a Monarch to lack a Queen by his side—and why settle for only one?]

---

Opening his runes, in place of that damned, suffocating string of golden characters that used to spell the word 'Master,' there was now a completely new entry.

---

Wives: [Cassia / True Name: —].

-

Name: Cassia.

True Name: —

Rank: Dreamer.

Attributes: [Memorykeeper].

[Memorykeeper] Attribute Description: [Your mind is larger and sharper than most. Your memory is flawless, built to hoard knowledge like volumes on the shelves of a large library.]

Aspect: [Seer].

Aspect Description: [You are a seer. Hidden in your mind is a third, golden eye capable of peering into the threads of Fate and unravelling its weaves. A seer is nothing more than a puppet in the hands of Fate, destined forever to be a witness to its machinations but never capable of changing its great designs.]

Aspect Rank: Sacred.

Aspect Ability: [Insight].

[Insight] Ability Description: [You can see the runes of others, as well as occasionally receive visions of the past or the future.]

Flaw: [Veil of Maya].

Flaw Description: [You are blind.]

---

Sunny closed the runes after reading them carefully. Where could he even begin?

Cassie's Flaw had never been a secret, and she herself had already revealed the specifics of her Aspect and abilities to him and others in the past. Moreover, he had long since guessed the Rank of her Aspect. So none of that surprised him.

What truly left Sunny baffled was the presence of only a single, solitary Attribute among her runes.

'Hell! Nephis has four, and even I had at least three in the beginning. But her? Has Cassie really always had only one Attribute?'

The more he thought about it, the more perplexed he became. Cassie had always been a capable fighter; although she struggled at first because she was hindered by her Flaw, over time she had proven to be a brilliant strategist and a truly extraordinary combatant. Sunny had assumed she had at least some good Attributes to support her—for instance, something that sharpened her other senses in the absence of sight. And yet...

'Life sure is unfair sometimes,' he thought with a heavy sigh, continuing to stroke her hair with unwavering affection.

At a certain point, Cassie stirred.

With a soft yawn, she rubbed the sleep from her eyes and looked up at him. Their gazes met in the early morning light, heavy with unconditional affection and a newfound, warm, and unbreakable bond.

"Good morning, Sunny," Cassie whispered sweetly.

"Good morning," Sunny replied in high spirits, raising a smug eyebrow. "I see we slept well."

At his words, she covered her mouth with both hands, giggling into his chest. "Yes," Cassie nodded. "You were warm."

He looked at her, holding her gaze for a long, tender moment. Then, the two of them kissed, surrendering to the soft pressure of their lips and the comforting warmth of their private morning.
