Chapter 22 - [22] Peeves' Wild Pranks and a Daring Rescue!

The moving staircases of Hogwarts Castle.

The new Slytherin students were quite excited.

Not only because of Argus's first bonus, but more importantly, because Gryffindor, as Slytherin's archenemy, actually took the initiative to seek Argus's advice.

And it wasn't just one person!

This greatly satisfied their vanity.

The group chattered excitedly and walked ahead of Gryffindor with an air of arrogance.

"Alright, that's enough."

"We're classmates, future partners. It was just one class. Why are we still bringing it up now?"

Argus gave a helpless reminder.

This was the third time Draco had described Gryffindor's awkward expression.

He had said it twice more, and Argus could almost recite it from memory.

"Argus, you didn't see it! Those little lions wanted to thank us but were too embarrassed. It was hilarious!"

Just as Draco was about to describe the scene to Argus again, a strange figure suddenly appeared above his head.

It startled him!

"Hehehe, guess what I saw! Gryffindors are walking with Slytherins! Hahaha..."

A strange, transparent figure emerged from the wall above everyone's heads.

Wearing bright clothes and a hat.

The tattered slippers had long cracks, revealing a few dark toes.

While laughing, he threw the water balloon in his hand at everyone!

"Protego!"

Argus reacted quickly, erecting a transparent barrier in front of everyone.

Water droplets splashed, but did not hit the Slytherin members.

The lion cubs behind them weren't so lucky!

Seeing that his attacks on Slytherin weren't working, Peeves grinned mischievously and threw water balloons at the little lions.

This prompted the lion cubs to hurl insults!

"Damn Peeves! Get away from me!"

"I'm going to tell Professor McGonagall! I'll make her teach you a lesson!"

"..."

Argus frowned slightly.

Peeves is mentioned in "Hogwarts: A History of the School".

In 1876, the Hogwarts caretakers attempted to expel Peeves from Hogwarts using various weapons and spells.

But he easily escaped!

Not only that, Peeves even stole a pistol and a small cannon!

They fired shots indiscriminately on campus, almost causing a major incident.

The incident was finally brought to an end when the principal granted Peeves the privilege of causing trouble.

Argus didn't want to deal with such a troublesome thing.

"Hurry up and leave, don't linger."

"When we get to the Potions classroom, Peeves won't dare to cause any more trouble."

He stretched the barrier above his head to its maximum extent to protect as many people as possible.

"Ah!!"

A scream from behind instantly drew everyone's attention.

Argus looked back and saw a girl at the back of the Gryffindor line dodging water balloons, completely unaware that the stairs had quietly rotated.

Without noticing, she fell down the stairs!

"Help! Help!"

Another Gryffindor girl clung tightly to her arm.

But she was too weak on her own!

In just two seconds, her whole body began to sway precariously!

People around her tried to pull her away, but it was too late.

The girl's body plummeted!

Just then, a swift male voice rang out.

"Wingardium Leviosa!"

The girl who was falling was pulled up by an invisible force and slowly floated upward.

Argus ran a few steps, controlled the girl to float to the top of the stairs, and caught her the moment the spell was broken.

"Are you alright?"

The girl, who had been quietly waiting for death with her eyes closed, jumped up when she heard Argus's voice!

Her eyes were red and swollen, and her legs gave way, causing her to collapse to the ground.

"Parvati!"

The girl who had grabbed her earlier, her face streaked with tears, rushed over and pulled Parvati into her arms.

Argus then noticed that the two looked almost identical.

No, it was Parvati!

The most beautiful girl in Gryffindor from India in the original story!

Argus's pupils contracted slightly as he scrutinized the other person with great interest.

Another supporting character with a significant amount of screen time.

In the original book, Parvati served as Harry's dance partner at the Triwizard Tournament ball.

However, with his act of saving her today...

Whether she would still be interested in him in the future was uncertain!

"Padma, I'm alright!"

"Thank you, Mr. Grindelwald!"

Parvati staggered to her feet and bowed deeply to Argus in thanks.

Padma, who was standing next to her, also realized what was happening and gave Argus a deep hug.

"If my sister really dies because of this, I don't want to live anymore!"

"Mr. Grindelwald, Padma will never forget your kindness!"

"It's just a small favor; I can't bear to see a pretty young girl die in front of me."

Argus gently patted Padma on the back to comfort her.

"Wow, did you see that? Argus's reaction was so fast! I didn't even see him clearly before his spell was already flying out!"

"Yes! Luckily he was there, otherwise Parvati would definitely have fallen!"

"If someone falls from such a tall staircase, they'll be covered in bruises!"

The Gryffindor lion cubs let out bursts of praise.

First, he ignored the conflict between Slytherin and Gryffindor and then taught them everything he knew in his Transfiguration class.

Now he had saved their classmate in a critical moment.

Even if these little lions loathed Slytherin, they couldn't help but develop a genuine liking for their leader.

"Oh my god! Peeves, what have you done?!"

Professor McGonagall, arriving late, was like an angry lioness, pulling out her wand and pointing it directly at Peeves.

Knowing he had almost caused a major disaster, Peeves hurriedly scurried into the wall and slipped away.

Seeing Parvati in such a disheveled state, Professor McGonagall felt a chill run down her spine and quickly went to her side.

"Miss Patil, how are you feeling?"

"I'll take you to Madam Pomfrey for a checkup."

"Peeves has really gone too far this time. I must get Professor Dumbledore to teach him a lesson!"

"Professor, I'm alright. It was Mr. Grindelwald who saved me!"

Parvati briefly recounted what had just happened.

Professor McGonagall looked at Argus with increasing admiration.

"Mr. Grindelwald, on behalf of Gryffindor, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your timely assistance."

"In recognition of your courageous act, I have decided to award Slytherin twenty points!"

Twenty points!

A gasp of amazement rippled through the crowd.

Keep in mind that even winning the Quidditch championship only adds 150 points.

It was the result of a large group of people working day and night for an entire academic year.

Argus, in just one class period, scored a high score of 25 for Slytherin!

Despite the high scores, no one felt anything was wrong with it.

Everyone knows that this is what Argus deserves!

"Alright, little wizards, it's almost time for class."

"If you don't want your Professor Snape to get angry, you'd better hurry up and go over there."

Professor McGonagall turned to look at Parvati.

Although the other party said she was fine, for safety reasons, she still planned to take her to Madam Pomfrey's place.

Parvati glanced longingly at Argus in the crowd.

Amidst the good-natured cheers of a group of people, she could only helplessly watch as Argus and the others left.
