Chapter 87 - Chapter 87 Coulson has a strong desire to survive

Thor really is an idiot.

During this brief journey through mortal life, he learned what proper values were—from Jane.

Work to earn a living. Spend time with your girlfriend after work. Read books together when you have free time and learn about Earth.

At heart, he was just a good young man with decent morals, five principles, and four virtues.

In the movie, the reason he was able to calm down and accept life on Earth was because Loki had deceived him. He believed he had killed his father, and that his mother had ordered him never to set foot in Asgard again. His heart was completely shattered.

But now, after Qin Xiao told him the truth, Thor truly calmed down. He was no longer rash or impulsive. These were two completely different states of mind.

Compared to that, living in Asgard for fifteen hundred years had been like living as a dog.

Odin's family education was really something else…

I suppose even Odin himself couldn't stand it anymore. That was why he entered the so-called "Odinsleep"—out of sight, out of mind—leaving his children to deal with everything on their own.

He successfully escaped responsibility, while Loki took the position of regent king. Thor's friends, who had known him since childhood, could no longer sit still.

Fandral, Volstagg, and Hogun—the three warriors of Asgard—along with Thor's nominal fiancée, Sif, the goddess of land and harvest.

The four of them went to the Rainbow Bridge Temple to find Heimdall.

Heimdall believed he had told a very clever lie. He placed the Guardian Sword onto the Rainbow Bridge control console and walked away.

He let them pass to Earth in search of Thor, then stood alone on the Rainbow Bridge and sighed.

To him, it was nothing more than children playing house.

As for Odin's family… what more can be said? It was an absolute mess.

For now, I'd have to play along with Loki.

After all, even an upright official finds it difficult to manage family affairs—let alone Odin.

Even Thor's mother, Queen Frigga, widely acknowledged as the wisest person in Asgard, chose to turn a blind eye to everything happening outside. Under the pretense of caring for Odin, she simply hid herself away.

And so Loki sat upon the throne and began his mischief.

Even when Loki colluded with the Frost Giants, Heimdall turned a blind eye. Fortunately, Loki's goal was to lure out the Serpent God and slaughter the Frost Giants, proving to Odin that he was the best candidate to be the next king.

But still—if Loki hadn't used the Eternal Spear to directly kill the Frost Giant king, would the so-called All-Father, lying in bed and claiming to be in Odinsleep, really have been so easy to kill?

Every time Qin Xiao thought about this in his previous life, a chill ran down his spine.

These two brothers caused a great deal of upheaval across the Nine Realms, but in the end, they opened their hearts and worked together sincerely.

When the destined Ragnarok arrived, Hela was buried along with all of Asgard, while her two sons escaped the curse of Ragnarok.

To put it simply—after the destruction of Asgard and before they encountered Thanos—

Every action Thor and Loki took was subtly influenced by Odin and Frigga.

Aside from those two old foxes and Heimdall—who could see everything yet never said a word—everyone else in Asgard looked like a fool.

As Qin Xiao was lost in thought, a brilliant, multicolored beam of light descended from swirling storm clouds in the sky beyond the town, striking the ground outside.

Inside S.H.I.E.L.D.'s temporary base, every surveillance device began blaring alarms.

Thanks to the research data and scientific instruments provided by Jane and the others, the assembled space detectors detected the formation of a passage between two realms.

So what happened next?

Coulson burst into the room with a constipated expression on his face.

"That's the legendary Rainbow Bridge. Some big idiots came down from Asgard. Oh—no, they're gods. Let's go take a look."

Qin Xiao didn't know when he had appeared behind Coulson.

Standing beside him was the biggest idiot in Asgard—Thor himself.

Knowing Loki would soon activate the Destroyer, Qin Xiao didn't allow Coulson to bring anyone else. The two of them, along with Thor, piled into a car with three others and headed out of town.

"It seems your friends want you to go back. What do you think, Thor?"

Qin Xiao asked from inside the car.

"Actually… I may really not be suited to be king," Thor said softly, lowering his head. "I think things are too simple for me. Maybe Loki is more suitable."

"Honestly, neither of you is fit to be king," Qin Xiao concluded. "One doesn't understand how to rule, and the other just wants to sit on the throne."

"Jane says the same thing. To be honest, I really like elections on Earth. Choosing leaders by vote is much better than family members killing each other."

"Congratulations, Thor," Qin Xiao said. "You found yourself an excellent girlfriend."

He had no interest in commenting on political systems, but Jane truly had given Thor many valuable and correct insights during this time.

Not long after leaving town, they encountered four people dressed in medieval clothing.

"Coulson, stop the car—that's my friends!"

Thor was delighted to see the Warriors Three and Sif.

Before the car even stopped, I jumped out and gave them all a big hug.

"Are you sure they're gods of Asgard?" Coulson asked skeptically, pointing at them. "They look more like Xena the Warrior Princess or Robin Hood. And Jackie Chan—no, that fat guy looks like a League of Legends barrel, except he's holding an axe!"

(Don't ask whether Marvel has League of Legends. Jackie Chan exists, so League of Legends can exist too.)

"I strongly object to you comparing Jackie Chan to that idiot out there," Qin Xiao said, "but I'll admit—if someone told me God looked like that, I'd slap him."

Oh, by the way—when are you planning to get hair removal? I know a really good product.

As he spoke, Qin Xiao suddenly remembered his bet with Coulson.

"I'm sorry, Qin. I shouldn't have compared a Chinese superstar to that idiot. That was a slip of the tongue," Coulson said quickly. "What I meant was—he looks like a despicable Japanese ninja. Yes, some kind of ronin samurai. Definitely not Chinese."

Coulson had a strong survival instinct. The most important thing in his life was his antique sports car—his "girlfriend." Second was his hair. As for being 'Captain America'? That ranked third.

Qin Xiao sneered silently and stared at Coulson's hairline.

"Alright," Coulson sighed.

"I have two tickets to a cello concert. I paid a fortune to scalpers for them. On the 15th next month, Agent Romanoff happens to be free. She's quite interested in things like that."

"Deal."

Qin Xiao extended his right hand.

"Let's go. Get out of the car and hear what nonsense these idiots are spouting."
