Chapter 81 - invisibility cloak

"What a pity. If the Disillusionment Charm's effect could last longer, it could have been used on a cloak, turning it into an invisibility cloak." Lee Jordan stared at the towel that had lost its magic, feeling quite regretful.

If he could possess an invisibility cloak, the entire Hogwarts Castle would be completely open to him.

Lee Jordan wasn't unwilling to go out at night; he would simply consider the consequences first. Gryffindor's bravery never meant recklessness or lack of common sense.

"Once I return the book, you can borrow it again to learn the Disillusionment Charm." Albert noticed the expression on the other person's face and said with a smile, "The Disillusionment Charm can be used directly on people, would you like to give it a try?"

"You've never used it on yourself," Lee Jordan asked warily.

"No," Albert replied.

"Then forget it," Lee Jordan said irritably. "You can try it on yourself first, then I can give it a shot."

"Why don't you two give it a try?" Albert asked the Weasley brothers with a smile.

The two of them shivered involuntarily and shook their heads in unison, saying, "No, no."

"What a pity."

"There's nothing to regret," the three said in unison.

"An invisibility cloak? Actually, making a cheap one isn't too difficult." Albert pulled a cloak from his suitcase, picked up his wand and cast a spell on it. The cloak immediately blended into the surrounding environment, as if it had disappeared.

Albert picked up the invisibility cloak, draped it over himself, and asked, "How is it?"

"Wow, it's gone."

"It really is an invisibility cloak."

All three chose to temporarily forget the duration of the Disillusionment Charm and immerse themselves in the excitement of seeing the Invisibility Cloak for the first time.

Albert lowered his head; only his head was suspended in mid-air, his body completely invisible.

"Let me try it out," George urged.

Albert took off his cloak and handed it to George, who eagerly draped it over himself, covering himself up completely.

The next moment, George disappeared from the room.

Albert's Disillusionment Charm does have flaws, but they are not easily noticeable without close inspection.

"Okay, let me try." Lee Jordan reached out and groped around in the air, as if searching for something with his eyes closed.

Guess where I am?

"Ahem, reveal yourself immediately." Albert raised his wand and cast the Reveal Charm in the direction the voice came from. George, who had been shrouded in an invisibility cloak, immediately appeared in front of the three of them under the Reveal Charm.

Everyone watched quietly as George moved slowly, trying not to make a sound, until Fred finally couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"The invisibility effect disappeared." George was also taken aback when he heard Fred's laughter. Then, remembering Albert's spell just now, he couldn't help but stick his head out of the cloak and immediately noticed that the invisibility cloak had failed.

"It's an invisibility spell, an invisibility cloak made with a spell. It's easily countered by spells." Albert patted George on the shoulder and said, "The more valuable invisibility cloaks are woven from the fur of invisible beasts, but these invisibility cloaks will eventually lose their invisibility over time."

In Albert's memory, the only true invisibility cloak was Harry Potter's.

As for the invisibility cloak created using the Disillusionment Charm, frankly speaking, it's nothing special and probably doesn't even qualify as an alchemical item.

What should alchemical tools look like?

In Albert's memory, the Deluminator, the Mirror of Erised, the Pensieve, the Golden Snitch, the Goblet of Fire... these are the things that could be considered alchemical tools.

Like potions, alchemy should also be a kind of magic.

That said, Hogwarts doesn't teach alchemy.

He still hasn't settled his task of being the inventor of the magic lamp.

"Albert, Albert"

While he was thinking, Albert heard someone calling him and asked, "What is it?"

Why are you suddenly so absent-minded?

All three of them were speechless. They had been chatting happily when they suddenly fell silent.

"Nothing, I was just thinking about something. Since the Disillusionment Charm can be used on objects, what about other spells?" Albert picked up his wand and tried to light up the crumpled Daily Prophet, but nothing happened.

"What are you doing?" George asked, puzzled.

"I'm trying to make the paper ball glow."

"And then what happened?"

"Didn't you see it too?" Albert said irritably, but of course, the answer was no, or perhaps his spellcasting skills weren't up to par.

"Why would you try this?" Fred asked, puzzled.

"Didn't you notice that all the joke props bought from Joko's shop use magic spells?"

"That makes sense." The three of them immediately thought of the invisibility cloak from earlier.

"Armor protection." Albert began trying to protect the wad of paper again, to see if he could give it the effect of the Ironclad Charm.

There was still no response.

"What are you doing now?" Li Qiaodan asked.

"Apply the Ironclad Spell to the paper ball."

"Apply the Ironclad Charm to the note?" The three were still confused, completely bewildered as to what Albert was doing.

"So...did it succeed?"

"I don't know, you take it, I'll try." Albert handed the crumpled paper to Fred, telling him to hold it facing him.

"Hey, wait a minute, you're not going to cast a spell on me, are you?" Fred shouted hurriedly.

"No, I plan to use this for testing." Albert grabbed a pillow and threw it, hitting Fred in the face.

"Looks like your Ironclad Spell isn't working!" Fred stared at Albert with a resentful look.

"As expected." Albert wasn't surprised. His current magical power wasn't strong enough, and whether he could use magic to modify objects remained to be studied.

"So you were definitely doing that on purpose." Fred smacked Albert in the face with a pillow and laughed triumphantly, only to be smeared in the face with a pillow by Lee Jordan, and George also grabbed his own pillow and joined the fray.

The four of them joked and played around for a while before finally calming down.

"Okay, I'm a little tired, I'm going to rest now." Albert covered his mouth to stifle a yawn and lay down on the bed to go to sleep.

"Good night."

"Good night."

"If we could make some protective gear, it should sell quite well, especially during the time when Voldemort was rampant and everyone felt insecure." This thought suddenly popped into Albert's mind.

It is not advisable to exchange Muggle currency for Galleons. As the goblins of Gringotts have said, theoretically, no one will be allowed to exchange pounds for large amounts of Galleons.

This is not hard to understand. Wizards rarely need to use pounds, and there is almost no communication between them, except for wizards who frequently need to contact Muggles.

Oh, right, the Ministry of Magic seems to have a similar department as well.

Albert raised his hand and lightly patted his forehead, his mind unconsciously drifting back to money. He didn't consider himself a greedy person, but he couldn't deny that sometimes, without money, it was truly impossible to get by.

The magical world is no exception.

Just as Albert was about to fall asleep, he heard some noises coming from the room, and the twins tiptoed out.

Are you planning to go for a night stroll tonight?

"Be careful, don't let the fat woman lock you out of the lounge," Albert warned, without intending to stop them. After all, the two of them had the Marauder's Map, and unless they did something stupid, they weren't afraid of being caught by Filch.
