Chapter 39 - Passionate galleons

As soon as you step into Honey Duke candy store, you are greeted by the aroma of creamy candy. Looking around, you see many shelves filled with all kinds of candies and pastries.

Albert immediately recognized several types: the large jars in front contained peanut butter brittle, toffee, and nougat.

There were also some green lollipops hanging neatly next to the shelf. Albert picked one up and was about to look at the description next to it when a familiar voice sounded behind him.

"If I were you, I wouldn't touch this. It's a sour popping candy, very sour." George put his hand on Albert's shoulder and pointed to the product description, explaining, "Fred bought one for Ron, our little brother, and it burned a hole in his tongue. Mom beat Fred up with a flying broomstick for it."

Fred glared at his twin brother and protested, "You're the one who bought that sour pop candy."

"I didn't tell you to give it to Ron to eat," George said innocently.

Seeing the unrepentant twin brothers, Albert quietly put the sour popping candy back on the shelf.

It can actually burn through a person's tongue; this thing must be made of sulfuric acid!

"What is this?"

In a corner of the wall to the left of the entrance, there are small mice of various colors hanging on a plastic board on the wall. They look just like real mice.

"This is Ice Mouse," Lee Jordan explained to Albert. "If you eat it, you'll feel very cold, so cold that your teeth will chatter. After you finish the candy, there will be a crunching sound in your stomach. By the way, it's a bit like Zonko's Squeaky Gummy."

"Interesting candies." Albert turned his gaze away from the ice mouse and walked to the shelf on the right. There was a large bucket of multi-flavored beans in various colors, and next to it, a large plastic bucket contained various flavored gummies. The shelf beyond that was neatly arranged with various chocolates.

Albert took two boxes of Chocolate Frogs and then set his sights on the large chocolate bar. He had bought it once on the train before and thought it tasted better than the Chocolate Frogs.

Oh, and some chocolate chips too.

Albert walked to the counter with various chocolate products in his hands.

Behind the counter, a smiling woman said, "That's 4 zickels and 10 knuts in total."

"Oh, ma'am, we meet again!" Albert looked at the train vendor with surprise, not expecting that she was actually the owner of Honey Duke.

"It's you! Darling, do you need any other candy?" The woman recognized Albert. After all, it's rare to see a customer buy everything on the cart.

"Any recommendations?" Albert thought to himself, no wonder there were so many candies being sold on the trains here.

"Exploding Gummy Candy. This candy is very popular with students. It explodes slightly when you bite into it. Of course, it won't hurt you." The woman poured an exploding gummy candy from the jar and handed it to Albert.

"Give it a try?"

She never hesitates to offer smiles and service to potential customers. Of course, this is related to the Galleons in their pockets.

Albert took the exploding gummy candy, put it in his mouth, and took a bite. Strawberry-flavored filling spilled out of the candy. The next moment, a slight explosion occurred near his mouth, which would probably startle anyone who didn't know better.

This should be classified as a joke prop, but the gummy candy tastes pretty good.

After Albert bought some Exploding Filled Gummy Candies, the shop owner became even more enthusiastic. She helped Albert put the Exploding Filled Gummy Candies into a paper bag and then began to introduce the various candies and desserts in the shop.

"You may have tried the jelly slug candy; it's one of our best-selling products."

Albert glanced at the long, slug-shaped gummy candy, raising an eyebrow slightly. It was more like a jelly snake than a jelly slug candy. However, he didn't like gummy candies, so he didn't plan to buy it; the thought of slugs was a bit disgusting.

The candy store also had all kinds of candies and desserts, including the famous pot-shaped cakes, chocolate balls, honey candies, lollipop quill pens, and more. The variety of candies in the store dazzled the four of them.

"These are... cockroaches?" Albert felt uneasy looking at the black worms crawling in the glass jar. Next to the jar was a string of cockroaches, their legs still twitching slightly.

"This is a pile of cockroaches," the woman explained. "It's one of the candies that Headmaster Dumbledore often buys from us. Of course, not everyone can accept candies of this shape."

I reckon only Dumbledore would like this thing!

"Have you tried it?" Albert asked, turning his head. The three of them shook their heads in unison.

The woman winked at Albert and said, "Here are fudge flies that burst in your mouth when you eat them, and blood-flavored lollipops that are very popular with most vampires."

"If you're looking for a prank, I recommend Pepper Sprite. It'll make your mouth burn like fire after you eat it..."

They stayed in the Honeydukes candy store for at least half an hour. Before leaving, the proprietress enthusiastically handed Albert a shopping list from the store and winked at him, saying, "If you want to buy candy, you can use owl mail. It's best not to sneak out on your own."

When Albert left the candy store, he had another paper bag in his hand, containing the pineapple preserves he had bought from the candy store, for which he paid 10 zickles.

"This is pretty good." Albert took a bite of the jackfruit.

"I always felt that the proprietress was particularly enthusiastic towards you," Lee Jordan said with a hint of jealousy. From beginning to end, the proprietress of Honeydukes treated Albert with great hospitality.

The twins nodded in agreement with Lee Jordan's words, and at that moment, their mouths were also stuffed with pineapple preserves.

"She's only enthusiastic towards Galeons, not me." Albert looked at Lee Jordan's expression and found it somewhat amusing.

Besides the bag of pineapple preserves, Albert bought a lot of other things at the shop. The kind shopkeeper said she would mail the items to Hogwarts so that he wouldn't be unable to carry so many things.

When the four returned to the castle, it was already 2 p.m. They had spent several hours exploring Hogsmeade and were all quite tired, but they all thought it had been a fun trip to Hogsmeade.

"Where have you been?" Percy Weasley sat down next to the four men, staring at the paper bag in front of them, his brow slightly furrowed.

"It's a secret!"

The twins exchanged a knowing look and smiled mysteriously. Of course, they wouldn't tell anyone they had gone to Hogsmeade, otherwise Percy would have written home.

The landlady of Honeydukes was very efficient; not long after Albert returned to the Great Hall, an owl delivered the package.

"I think we'd better go back to the common room." Albert noticed that the package was attracting the attention of the others, so he called the three of them to help carry the package back to the Gryffindor common room.

Watching the four figures disappear into the distance, Percy's eyes flickered, and it was unclear what he was thinking.
