Chapter 3 - Seabed

The next day, the sun was blazing, and it was almost noon.

After getting up and washing up, Roy went downstairs for a meal and then came to his computer desk to write his daily novel chapter.

After typing a few words on the keyboard, he paused.

"How about I take the day off today?"

What reason could you give?

A friend's wedding? I've already used that. My girlfriend's birthday? No way, those readers, who are practically Sherlock Holmes, already figured out I don't have a girlfriend…

Hemorrhoid surgery? I think I used that last month too.

Roy's mind raced, and he sadly realized that he didn't seem to have a good reason to ask for leave.

Finally, Roy could only sigh and tap the keyboard like squeezing toothpaste.

Actually, it's not that he doesn't like writing novels.

This is both Roy's job and his hobby.

However, he always get lazy when he try to write.

"Finally finished writing!"

After finishing typing, Roy seemed to come back to life, instantly becoming energetic.

Immediately afterwards, he picked up his phone, sprang onto the bed, and opened 'Mysterious Sea.'

[Today the weather is fine and sunny, and the sea god seems to be exceptionally lenient towards the newcomers.]

Roy skillfully controlled the little man to the bow of the ship and took out a fishing rod.

The buoy floats up, and a new day begins.

[You caught: 1 sea fish.]

[You caught: 1 coconut shell.]

[You caught: 1 Red Coral.]

[…]

[Fishing skill experience increased; current level 4.]

Roy fished with great patience.

Although none of them are particularly valuable, catching one fish after another is enough to bring joy.

The Fishing Master effect seems to have a very low trigger rate.

Roy has successfully fished nearly fifty times, but hasn't caught anything special.

"When will we be able to access supernatural powers?"

Roy smacked his lips.

"Wait a minute." Speaking of extraordinary powers, he suddenly remembered his character's talent: "I think I have a talent that allows me to control other creatures?"

Roy slapped his forehead, realizing he had completely forgotten something so important.

He then searched for any creatures in the vicinity.

He spotted a little orange cat sleeping in late.

"…I'll let you off this time."

Roy smiled.

He certainly couldn't use his talent to take over the little orange cat's body, after all, it was his only partner at the moment.

After thinking for a moment, Roy pulled an unlucky sea fish out of his inventory.

Shouldn't this be considered a living organism?

[Sea fish]

[Type: Creature]

[Quality: Average]

[Level: 1]

[Rank: None]

[Description: An ordinary-looking sea fish.]

Use your talent!

Roy silently recited a phrase in his mind.

As the command was given, the little man's eyes were fixed on the sea fish in his hand.

Before long, a wisp of purple mist fell into the sea fish's body.

At the same time, a feedback message appeared in Roy's mind, containing information about his talent.

After the event was over, Roy controlled his character to throw the fish into the sea.

With a thought, the game interface changed rapidly.

The game interface then transformed into a vast blue sea, with a sea fish in the center of the screen.

This talent is absolutely amazing!

Roy couldn't help but get excited.

If I had realized this sooner, I wouldn't have been fishing so aimlessly.

Roy began to control the sea fish and explore the surroundings.

Since I can disconnect from the sea fish at any time, it doesn't matter if I encounter predators in the sea.

Just change to a different fish.

Roy first explored the area around the small boat but found no danger.

Then, the fish swam downwards, passing many marine creatures along the way.

After swimming for about two or three minutes, Roy saw irregularly distributed reefs and some sand at the bottom.

It seems this area is not a deep-sea region.

The sea fish swayed its tail fin and continued its exploration.

Before long, a large, striped fish appeared on the screen, eyeing Roy's small sea fish menacingly.

Roy sensed that things were going badly, but he still controlled the sea fish to run wildly.

But it was clear that it were no match for the big fish in terms of speed.

The sea fish was swallowed, and Roy's screen returned to the small boat.

"Damn, let's do it again!"

Roy was a little frustrated, but he was not discouraged and took out another sea fish.

Anyway, he had plenty of fish on his boat, and the little orange cat was getting a little tired of them.

Not long after, the Fish no. 2 arrived at the bottom of this shallow sea again.

It was lucky this time; It wasn't eaten.

"Let's see if there are any shipwrecks or treasures around here."

Roy thought to himself.

Sea Fish No. 2 wagged its tail and began searching around.

I don't know if it's because the water is too shallow or the fish have good vision, but the underwater scenery is quite clear.

Roy searched for a long time.

But along the way, all it found were reefs, corals, or marine life.

Several times, It was almost attacked by the disguised Old Six Octopus.

"It seems that finding shipwrecks is quite difficult."

Roy was slightly disappointed; the expedition seemed to have yielded nothing.

After thinking about it, he decided to go back to fishing.

But just as he was about to return, a peculiar object buried in the sand caught his attention.

'What is it?'

the Sea Fish stopped moving and swam towards the thing.

Upon getting closer, Roy saw the thing in its entirety.

It turned out to be a human skeleton.

'Is there a shipwreck nearby?'

Roy thought to himself.

With this in mind, he enthusiastically ordered the Sea Fish to thoroughly explore the surrounding area.

As a result, it found nothing, and the sea fish was unable to dig in the sand.

Roy was speechless.

It looks like this is an unlucky guy who was thrown overboard; there are no shipwrecks nearby.

Thinking of this, Roy lost interest.

"…I wonder if the game character can come down and take a look."

After thinking for a moment, Roy decided to let his game character try it out.

Who knows, there might be some treasure hidden in the sand?

Save the file.

The perspective returns to the ship, where the little man jumps into the sea with a splash, takes a deep breath, and dives towards the seabed.

Once deeper into the sea, bubble values appeared on one side and began to deplete rapidly.

Sea Fish No. 2 began to lead the way.

Before long, the little man arrived in front of the human skeleton.

This sea area is indeed not deep.

At this point, nearly half of the bubble value had been consumed, leaving Roy with little time.

The little man started searching quickly.

Sure enough, some things were buried in the sand.

[You found it: a rusty knife.]

[You found it: a damaged musket.]

[You found it: the iron badge.]

[You found: 2 silver coins, 8 copper coins.]

A very fruitful harvest.

While Roy was happy, he also noticed that the character's remaining bubble value was not much, so he quickly controlled the little man to float upwards.

The water splashed open, and the little man gasped for breath.

Looking around, I realized that the small boat had already drifted some distance away.

Roy quickly swam closer and climbed onto the small boat.

"Next time, we can't stay too long, or we won't be able to find the boat."

Roy felt a bit scared; the small boat had no anchor and would have drifted away on its own.

If you lose your boat in this vast ocean, your game character is not far from death.
