Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Uchiha's Psychiatrist

Chapter 1: The Uchiha's Psychiatrist

The Third Great Ninja War raged along the border of the Land of Fire.

Fifty elite Iwagakure shinobi, led by the feared Jonin Higashi, had successfully encircled Konoha's border defense forces in a devastating ambush.

Due to faulty intelligence from ANBU headquarters, the Konoha defenders suffered catastrophic losses. Every elite Jonin had fallen in battle, and the chunin casualties were even worse. Of the nearly one hundred defenders, barely a dozen remained alive.

Wave after wave of Iwa-nin pressed forward toward Konoha's last defensive position. Even with victory within his grasp, Higashi remained cautious, methodically using explosive tags to clear the path and destroy any remaining traps.

This relentless, measured advance left the surviving Konoha chunin huddled inside the stronghold pale with terror. They exchanged hollow glances as despair settled over them like a suffocating blanket, crushing any last spark of hope.

"Damn it all!" Mimura Hamaki's eyes blazed red as he ground his teeth. "If those useless ANBU hadn't fed us bad intel, we never would've walked into this trap!"

"It's over. We're finished." Nagasaki Junji's eyes went dead as his kunai clattered to the ground. "Too late for blame now, Mimura."

Nearly a hundred elite shinobi wiped out in a single engagement. Even the mighty Hidden Leaf Village couldn't absorb such devastating losses easily.

And Konoha was already fighting a war on three fronts against the other great villages!

"This is my fault," Mimura whispered, squeezing his eyes shut. "I've failed Lord Fourth's trust in me."

He could already picture it: Iwa-nin flooding into Konoha because of his incompetence, homes burning, blood running through the streets like rivers.

"Kill them!" Higashi's voice rang out. "Then we march on Konoha itself!"

Hundreds of kunai screamed through the air, a deadly rain descending on the doomed defenders.

Mimura and the others closed their eyes, waiting for death.

BOOM!

Suddenly, a figure appeared on the battlefield in a burst of speed.

A massive explosion erupted, throwing up a wall of dust that sent hundreds of kunai spiraling harmlessly away.

Through the billowing smoke, Higashi felt an inexplicable pressure wash over him, a primal warning screaming in his gut. "Who's there?!"

"Pathetic Iwa-nin," a deep, commanding voice echoed from within the dust cloud. "You dare attack Konoha's borders while I was away?"

"That voice..." Higashi's pupils contracted sharply. He already knew who it was, and fear spread through him like ice water. "It can't be!"

Mimura looked up at the silhouette in the smoke, his eyes filling with respect and hope.

The man wore the traditional Uchiha battle attire, his long black hair whipping in the wind. But what drew the eye was the red and white uchiwa fan emblazoned on his back—the symbol of the Uchiha clan.

"Uchiha Fugaku!"

The moment Higashi recognized that face, his heart nearly stopped. "Why is Konoha's Fourth Hokage here?!"

"Lord Fourth, I—" Mimura started to apologize.

"Save it. This wasn't your fault."

The Fourth Hokage, Uchiha Fugaku, stood with an intense expression as the three tomoe in his Sharingan began to spin and merge. "Leave everything to me."

"Fall back!" Higashi screamed frantically. "Everyone retreat! NOW!"

"Too late."

Uchiha Fugaku's eyes turned cold as he clenched his fist. "Those who strike at Konoha will face judgment, no matter how far they run!"

Terrifying chakra exploded outward like a hurricane with Fugaku at its center. The ground beneath him couldn't bear the pressure and cracked like a spiderweb, fracturing in every direction.

The power of the Mangekyo Sharingan surged through him as Fugaku's voice rang out: "Amaterasu!"

WHOOSH!

Black flames erupted across the battlefield like a tidal wave, engulfing everything within a hundred-meter radius in inextinguishable fire.

"Remember this, you Iwa dogs!" Uchiha Fugaku's lips curved into a confident smile as he surveyed the burning battlefield. "As long as I draw breath, you will never defeat Konoha!"

"Long live the Fourth Hokage!"

"Long live Lord Fourth!"

"Long live the Hokage!"

The cheers washed over Fugaku like music. His heart swelled with pride.

In this moment, he had surpassed all his ancestors, becoming the greatest Uchiha clan head in history and Konoha's mightiest Hokage.

"That'll be 50,000 ryo, please."

The sudden voice yanked Fugaku back to reality.

He blinked, momentarily disoriented, before his eyes focused on the young man sitting across from him.

The boy was about fifteen, with short black hair and sharp, refined features behind thick-rimmed glasses. He had an intellectual, gentle air about him. But most striking were his eyes—the three tomoe of the Sharingan spinning slowly in each iris, radiating an almost hypnotic allure.

"Wait, that's it?" Fugaku's eye twitched as he stared at the teenager. "It's over already? What happens next?!"

"That's all for the trial version, Clan Head."

Uchiha Kazuki shrugged with an easy smile. "Fifty thousand ryo only covers a preview. You'll need to pay full price for the complete experience."

"How much?"

Fugaku felt torn. That beautiful dream had been far too intoxicating.

"One hundred thousand ryo per full session." Kazuki held up five fingers with a pleasant smile.

"Hiss—that's expensive!"

Fugaku sucked in a sharp breath.

Don't let his position as Uchiha clan head fool you. Despite his prestigious public image, his wife Mikoto ruled their household with an iron fist. The meager savings he'd managed to squirrel away would only cover four or five sessions at most. The thought made his heart ache—that was his hard-earned money!

"Maybe... next time," Fugaku forced himself to suppress his desire, painfully closing his eyes.

The Fourth Hokage... what an intoxicating dream! Even knowing it wasn't real, the temptation was irresistible, making him want to experience it again and again.

No wonder so many people kept coming back to Uchiha Kazuki for his unique brand of "psychological therapy."

Still, Fugaku was the clan head for a reason. He quickly reined in his desire, took a deep breath, and fixed the young man with a serious look. "I actually came here on important business."

"I'm listening, Clan Head."

Kazuki's gentle smile remained as the tomoe in his eyes faded away.

"Kazuki, the Hokage wants to transfer you to ANBU."

Fugaku's eyes flickered, and after a brief pause he added, "Of course, if you'd rather not join ANBU, you could always serve in the Konoha Military Police Force instead."

"No need, Clan Head."

Kazuki considered for a moment, then shook his head. "Besides, refusing the Hokage would only make things harder for the clan, wouldn't it?"

"Very well. I'll inform the Hokage of your decision."

Fugaku gave him a long, searching look before standing to leave. At the door, he paused. "Kazuki, no matter where you serve, never forget—you will always be a member of the Uchiha clan."

After Fugaku departed, Kazuki stared into empty space.

No one else could see the faint text floating in the air before him.

Uchiha Kazuki was considered an eccentric genius, at least by the standards of the Uchiha clan.

At only fifteen years old, he'd already awakened the three-tomoe Sharingan. Yet instead of pursuing combat techniques, he focused on medical ninjutsu and developed an innovative method of psychological healing based on genjutsu.

The reason for Kazuki's eccentricity was simple: he wasn't from this world.

He was a transmigrator.

And he walked the path of the Spectator.
