Stupid human! Don't summon us again if you don't have anything to feed us.
The sharp voice of a man rang inside Daniel's mind, its tone dripping with irritation.
The words seemed to reverberate through his skull, as though the speaker were standing right beside him and shouting into his ear.
Calm down. Can't you see he's still a young man?
A feminine voice followed, smoother and more composed. Unlike her companion, she sounded almost patient, though the demand in her words was unmistakable.
Listen, boy. Only summon us when you have something to feed us. By feeding us, we mean blood. Now, send us back to the shadow void.
Daniel blinked, staring at the two sickles in his hands.
"Wait, hold on—"
Argh! Either you feed us your blood, or we'll start draining your lifeblood straight through your hands!
The man's voice rose in a furious snarl, cutting Daniel off before he could finish.
