Peter and Ned stared in shock at the baseball in Silas's hand, then looked at Silas with disbelief.
"Oh my god~ How did you do that? Cool! Can you teach me?" Ned exclaimed excitedly.
Peter had a stunned expression mixed with gratitude, realizing the baseball would have otherwise hit his head.
Silas pulled his arm back and tossed the baseball in his hand. The Shadowkhan Kingdom not only allowed him to summon ninjas.
It also increased his own physical abilities. He was now stronger than an average person, though not exceptionally powerful yet.
In terms of agility, Silas was very strong, able to run on walls and ceilings like those ninjas.
"Hey! Silas, nice catch! Wanna join our baseball club?" Flash Thompson shouted, waving his arm from the nearby lawn.
He had deliberately hit the ball toward Peter Parker when he saw him, and was surprised Silas had caught it.
"It's them again," Ned whispered.
Peter nodded. He knew Flash was targeting him, and the reason was simple: Peter liked Liz Allan.
Silas held up a finger and shook it at Flash, signaling his refusal, then tossed the baseball back to him.
The three then walked away, and Flash smiled as he watched them go.
At the School Gate
"See you tomorrow then," Ned waved to Peter Parker, then said to Silas, "Have a good weekend."
"You too," Silas replied, and they parted ways.
"Peter, I heard you're going after Liz?" Silas gossiped.
Hearing this, Peter immediately shook his head, nervous. "Who... who told you that?"
"Ned," Silas quickly sold Ned out.
Peter couldn't help but groan. "Oh~ I knew he couldn't keep his mouth shut. Please, don't tell Aunt May, please."
"Don't worry, I won't say a word," Silas patted Peter's back.
"I heard there's an exhibition next weekend. Are you going?" Peter asked.
Silas smiled. "Of course I'm going."
This was going to be Peter's turning point—the moment he got his superpowers.
Since he shared the Parker family DNA with Peter, if he were bitten by that radioactive spider, he could also gain Spider-Man's abilities.
"Hmm," Peter looked confused. "You never go to these kinds of exhibitions."
"I'm going to keep you company, just in case you get bored," Silas said, placing his arm on Peter's shoulder.
After the two got home, Peter immediately shut himself in his room and started studying.
Silas, meanwhile, sat on Peter's bed, playing a handheld game console.
Hearing the sounds from the console, Peter turned his head. "Where did you get the money to buy that console?"
"Want one?" Silas playfully shook the console in his hand.
"Hey! You didn't answer." Peter was intrigued; their allowance wasn't enough to buy a console like that.
Silas didn't tell Peter the source of the money, only asking, "Do you want it?"
"No, I don't. I just want to know where you got the money. Did you steal it? No, Uncle Ben said we shouldn't steal."
Peter wasn't really interested in the console; he was just worried that his brother might have stolen money to buy it.
"I don't have the ability to steal. I just won some money in a prize draw," Silas offered a casual excuse.
"How much?" Peter sat down next to Silas.
Silas held up one finger. "One thousand dollars."
"Oh—" Peter didn't have time to shout before Silas clapped a hand over his mouth.
Silas whispered, "Shh~ Keep it down."
"One thousand dollars..." Once Peter calmed down, he couldn't even imagine it. There was no helping it; they were poor.
Silas pulled a box out from under the bed, opened it, and revealed the camera inside.
"A Yashica Electro 35..." Peter read the brand name of the camera.
Silas took out the camera. "It's for you, brand new."
"For me? Thank you so much, Silas!" Peter excitedly hugged Silas.
Downstairs, Aunt May frowned in confusion after hearing the commotion upstairs. What was so exciting?
"And it's brand new. That must have cost about six hundred dollars!" Peter picked up the camera and started fiddling with it.
"Thank you so much, my brother." Peter hugged Silas again, then rushed over to the computer to research the camera.
"It's just a camera, though~" Silas was surprised by Peter's intense reaction. As for the money's origin, it wasn't stolen, but it was taken.
A few days ago, he sent five ninjas to rob a group of thieves. The thieves, however, were quite formidable.
The ninjas only managed to snatch one stack of cash from a full bag of money. They used their agility to escape, but the other four ninjas were shot by bullets and dispersed into black mist.
This incident also taught Silas that the ninjas had a cooldown period. Once destroyed, they had to return to the Shadowkhan Kingdom to rebuild their bodies.
Because Silas himself didn't have the ability to teleport across dimensions, the Shadowkhan forces also lost that ability and could only be summoned within five meters of Silas.
Recalling them to the Shadowkhan Kingdom could also only be done within five meters of Silas.
"In the future, I should try to leave things to the Shadowkhan as much as possible, or my small body won't be able to withstand bullets," Silas thought cautiously.
"Cool~ I was just worrying about not being able to take pictures at the mechanical exhibition tomorrow." Peter was already eagerly taking test shots.
While taking pictures, Peter said to Silas, "Silas, look here."
Silas, who was deep in thought, was startled. He subconsciously turned his head, and Click!
A picture of a surprised Silas was taken.
"Haha~ Silas, look, you're so cute," Peter chuckled.
Silas, with a dark expression, reached out his hand. "Delete that photo."
"No way!" Peter firmly refused.
The two brothers then wrestled. With Peter Parker's strength, he was no match for Silas.
However, the photo was ultimately not deleted. Peter kept it, claiming it was for the sake of memories.
The Weekend Arrives
Beep~ Beep beep~ Beep~
"It's nine o'clock?" Silas groggily turned off his alarm and got up to get dressed.
Downstairs
"I can't believe it, has God performed a miracle today? You're up at nine o'clock!" Aunt May's eyes were filled with disbelief when she saw Silas coming downstairs.
On a normal weekend, Silas would usually lie in bed until eleven, then get up just in time for lunch.
"Yes, Aunt May. I have plans with a friend today. I'll be back this afternoon," Silas said, straightening his clothes.
Aunt May frowned. "This afternoon? Do you need money for lunch?" She prepared to get her wallet to give Silas some cash.
Silas quickly refused. "No need. My friend is treating."
"Alright then, have fun," Aunt May kissed Silas.
Silas smiled. "I will. Where did Peter run off to so early?"
"He said he was going to a mechanical exhibition with his friend early this morning," Aunt May replied.
Under Aunt May's watchful gaze, Silas then left the house and headed to their agreed-upon destination.
The Park
Since the agreed-upon time was ten o'clock, and it was still before nine-thirty, Misty Barron hadn't arrived yet.
Silas sat alone on a long bench, waiting for Misty. He had come so early simply because he was afraid of being late.
Soon, a stunning figure walked over.
"Hi! You're actually not late! How long have you been here?" Misty ran up behind Silas and patted his shoulder.
Silas had already noticed Misty but pretended he hadn't. When Misty patted him, he pretended to be startled.
"Wow~ How did you get behind me?" Silas laughed.
Misty was wearing a white T-shirt under a plaid shirt, with jeans on the bottom. Her stunning figure looked particularly charming.
"Let's go!" Misty gestured.
