Entering her small apartment Rihannat walked to the kitchen to get herself the remaining food quickly as she was very farmished. She called her parents after that before going to bed.
Basit got home that day and met his friend Ridwan waiting for or him outside his apartment. They both live in the same compound but different apartment. Both occupying a two bedroom apartment each in case of visiting parents.
Basit what happened I've been calling your number but you are not picking?
Subhanallah! I'm sorry I didn't know my phone was ringing.
"What are you thinking! What makes you so lost to the extent of not knowing your phone rang 8times ? And are you sure the bike man did not hit your head on Something and why the smiley face? You are acting strange basit" Ridwan said
Nothing, it's just...you know...(all smiles) don't worry it's nothing.
Basit this vibe you are giving me is putting me on edge. You have to tell me what got you so lost and all smiley at the same time. You know I won't stop till I get my answer man . Ridwan said cheekily
"Okay fine I will tell you so you can let me have peace " basit said as he opened the door and pulled his gossipping friend inside his apartment .
They both sit as basit narrated all that happened to him leaving him awed.
So are you telling me about the same girl you talked about two years ago ? Ridwan asked trying to get everything clearly
Hmm she's the one. I've been trying my best to keep off since dating is not allowed in Islam and you know... she's always like I am not ready don't come near me type.
So are you telling me that you are totally smitten now. I thought you were joking I never knew their will be a day when the mighty basit will be smitten like this. Allahu Akbar this is miracle!! I thought you will be single forever. Ridwan smirked
Are you for real? Aren't we the same. Pot calling the kettle black. After saying that he ran to his bedroom and lock the door.
Basit come here i promise I won't kill you tonight. I will only beat you to a pulp. Come come out right now! Ridwan shouted as he bang the door. Their neighbors already know them so nobody complained about the noise, they act like frozen ice outside so cold but always act like kid at home. Very childish.!
The two of them played, ran after each other, tickles each other till they're both tired. As childhood friends, they see each other as brothers instead of friends
So now what you are saying is you think you feel something deep for her than infatuation! Ridwan asked
Ridwan this has been going on for 2 years now since I first set my eyes on her. I always tried to avoid her and all unfortunately we ended up in the same department making it hard for me to look away. She has this vibe around her that got me hooked! And now bro, I don't even think I can move on and act like before again after getting closer to her now. But you know what? She's avoiding relationship like plague, not ready yet. Maybe it's my retribution you know for all the love letters and rejections. Basit answered and close his eyes as he rest his head on his raised arm on the railing.
Ridwan sighed as he watched his brother feeling troubled. Is this how loving is! Kind of troublesome to me! I better enjoy my single life for now. He thought before saying "it's your first time in a relationship take it slowly and also I think you are in love, I mean deeply in love bro! It's a fact and as the days goes by the feelings will keep on developing and growing more.
If what you feel is truly this then you should start preparing yourself I can imagine your dad and mum dancing and shouting with joy, calling their friends to share the news, I can't wait to be the bestman. Ridwan said happily clapping like a kid as he winks at his friend.
Basit wanted to stop him but hearing him saying All those words and calling him the groom did something to him, feelings that he couldn't say nor understand but he liked it or should he say love it.
Basit looked at his brother saying I really appreciate this only to hear him say we've passed that level and we don't need that between us anymore, we're brothers okay? They both smile and hug eachother.
Yes the both of them are childhood friends and from wealthy home. Ridwan father is a chief judge and his mother is a world known surgeon. While basit father is big business man investing both in and out of the country and his mom a construction engineer that is well known for her beautiful work and efficiency. With the two families hoping to become inlaws to make the bond stronger but seems like fate is not on their side as the kids shows no interest in each other. Basit junior sister and Ridwan are always acting like siblings, even Ridwan and Basit has become deep and sworn brothers! what can the parents do since they won't force them! They can only watch and pray to Allah.As everything goes according to his will!
Rihannat as always was in school very early in the morning with her food in the bag sitting in a corner reading since she still has some free time before her class start. She doesn't have any lecture in the morning but it has become an habit of her to always be in school very early to study there.
Basit has been looking for her after his first lecture that morning but he could not find her until he decided to ask one of the ladies he saw with her leaving the class together the other day who told him where she always sits in a silent corner along the quiet corridor of an unused building to read.
And truly he saw her sitting there!.
