Chapter 16 - Volume 17 (Chapter 17)

My Girlfriend Is Stronger Than the Demon Lord – Volume 17 (Chapter 17)

Just when I thought the demon realm might settle into a peaceful rhythm, Aria's phone—well, the magical equivalent—buzzed with a warning.

"The Shadow Clan," she muttered, eyes narrowing. "They're planning something… personal this time."

I frowned. "Personal? Like… what? Inviting you to tea?"

Aria pinched the bridge of her nose. "More like 'ruin our date day and embarrass the Demon Lord in front of all allies.'"

Before I could respond, the castle gates burst open. A group of shadow assassins poured in, their weapons glinting with poison and dark magic.

"Eren," Aria said calmly, "hide behind me. This might get messy."

I hesitated. "Hide? I… I'm not even sure if hiding works against her level of chaos."

She gave me a soft smile. "It will. Trust me."

With that, she stepped forward. Her aura flared, the air shimmering with quiet, terrifying power. The assassins charged—but before their weapons could reach her, they froze midair, suspended like puppets.

"Really?" I whispered. "That's it?"

Aria turned slightly, cheeks pink. "Eren… sometimes the scariest power isn't in striking, but in controlling. Watch carefully."

With a subtle gesture, the assassins were gently lowered to the ground, unharmed but completely immobilized. Their weapons formed an intricate pattern of light around them, as if painting the floor with magic.

The Shadow Clan's leader, a pale, sinister demon, stepped forward, eyes wide. "Battle Goddess… you've… outdone yourself."

Aria yawned. "I just wanted a peaceful day. But if you insist… consider today's lesson complete."

I exhaled, realizing something: my girlfriend could turn even an assassination attempt into an elegant display of power, and still manage to look graceful.

She glanced at me, hand reaching for mine. "Eren… come on. We still have that date to salvage."

I held her hand, heart pounding. "Right. Let's… salvage it, Demon Lord style."

And so, once again, the day was saved—not with brute force, but with Aria's quiet, unstoppable control… and a surprisingly intact sense of romance.
