Chapter 3 - "The Chosen Anomaly"

Siheon lay sprawled on the roof of an abandoned building, glittering dust from his last "oops" spell still stuck in his hair.

Seraphina hovered beside him, silver weapon drawn, eyes sharper than any celestial sword.

"Explain to me again," she said slowly, tone calm but deadly.

"You're the chosen anomaly, and everyone in Heaven and Hell is dying to recruit—or kill—you… why?"

Siheon rubbed the back of his head.

"Well… I did sleep through high school… does that count?"

She groaned.

"Stop joking. This is serious. Why you?"

---

A golden light flared from the Heaven System floating beside him.

[ACTIVATING SOUL ANALYSIS… COMPLETE.]

A serene voice spoke:

"Host Baek Siheon. You were chosen because your soul exists outside the parameters of creation. It cannot be predicted, measured, or controlled. It carries traits from both human and primordial energy lines."

Siheon blinked.

"…I'm special? Is that code for 'you'll cause problems'?"

Heaven ignored the comment.

"Your existence nullifies traditional rules of both Heaven and Hell. Celestials fear you, demons covet you, and yet no entity can fully command you. You are the bridge between order and chaos."

Siheon's stomach twisted.

"So… I'm… dangerous to everyone?"

"Correct," Heaven replied.

"You are a singularity — the first human with the capacity to wield both divine and infernal energy naturally."

Siheon slowly looked at Seraphina.

"…I thought I was chosen to save the world. Turns out, I'm chosen to terrify it instead."

Seraphina pinched her nose.

"I knew it. I knew there was something ridiculous about you."

---

Red energy flared beside him.

Hell's voice purred.

"Finally, someone with backbone. A human who won't immediately beg for mercy. You have… the potential to dominate celestial politics by sheer presence alone. Your soul resonates with power that predates the angelic hierarchy. Even Michael and Lucifer would hesitate in your presence."

Siheon spat out his water in shock.

"…Wait. I terrify Michael AND Lucifer?"

Hell laughed.

"Yes, darling. You have the rarest trait in creation: a human soul that refuses to be limited."

Heaven beeped in indignation.

[THIS IS EXAGGERATED.]

Hell hissed:

"Not really. Humans like you are anomalies. The universe fears them because they break the rules… in style."

Siheon muttered under his breath:

"Great. I'm a fashion disaster for celestial order."

Seraphina sighed.

"I may never understand why I'm protecting you."

---

Before she could argue further, the demonic sigil from the previous chapter flared violently.

It pulsed beneath Siheon's feet like it was alive.

Heaven: [DEFENSIVE MECHANISM ACTIVATED…]

Hell: [Oh yes! Show them what you're made of!]

Siheon yelped.

"What?!"

He felt energy surge through him — a fusion of golden light and crimson fire — his body practically vibrating with untapped power.

He moved a hand to shield Seraphina reflexively.

The sigil exploded in a dazzling torrent, tearing a hole in the street below.

The demon, previously confident, froze mid-step.

It hissed.

"…Impossible… a human?"

Siheon blinked at his hands, slightly horrified.

"…I didn't even try. That just… happened."

Seraphina stared, mouth slightly open.

"So you're saying… this is why Heaven and Hell wanted you alive?"

Siheon shrugged.

"Looks like it. Also, I might have accidentally destroyed half of Seoul. Sorry?"

---

Seraphina shook her head.

"Baek Siheon, humans like you are the reason even Michael feared that first rebellion. Your existence is… a threat to everything."

She gestured toward the distant skyline.

"Other humans, the Primal Lineage… some are already awakening. And now… you've marked yourself. Both Heaven and Hell know about you. And one day, even God may take interest."

Siheon's stomach sank.

"Great. Just a normal day… and I get caught in cosmic politics, fight demons, and maybe date a demon hunter…"

Hell snickered.

[Oh, don't worry. The dating will be messy… and fun.]

Heaven beeped.

[STOP HUMOR. THIS IS IMPORTANT.]

---

A shadow split the sky above them.

Not a bird. Not a plane. Something massive, glowing with chaotic energy.

Siheon froze.

"…What the hell is that?"

Seraphina tightened her grip on her blade.

"Something even I don't like to see. Angels whispered about this. Demons would call it… the anomaly that shouldn't exist."

The shadow descended — and Siheon's pulse quickened.

A being so powerful that even Michael might hesitate…

And it was coming straight for him.

Siheon swallowed.

"…Well. Guess we're having a very bad day."

CRACK!

The shadow struck the rooftop.
