Kid POV
This is my chance.
Before he comes… I have to run. As far as I can.
How is he still alive?
Kid burst out of the building, rain crashing down like the sky itself wanted him drowned.
He reached his car—
Flat.
Another.
Another.
All punctured.
"That bastard…" he hissed, teeth chattering more from fear than cold.
No choice.
He ran.
Down the streets. Into the city. Toward lights, people—anywhere Knuckle couldn't hunt him in silence.
Thunder rolled overhead. Dark clouds swallowed the moon. His breath burned his lungs as he cursed Erika… cursed the manager… cursed his own arrogance.
Then—
A shadow.
Moving when he moved. Stopping when he stopped.
Kid's heartbeat spiked. He ran faster. The rain slicked the road—
His foot slipped.
He crashed hard, palms scraping asphalt. Pain shot through his ribs as he lifted his head.
Knuckle stood in front of him.
Rain dripped from the metal mask. Blood ran down Jason's left leg, soaking his pants, but his posture didn't break. His stare was empty. Cold. Final.
"Stay back!" Kid screamed, crawling backward. "You can't kill me! If you do, Liar will erase you—your family, everyone! You don't know who you're messing with!"
Jason stepped forward.
The wound on his leg reopened. Blood flowed freely now. His body trembled—not from fear, but exhaustion.
"You think this is a joke?" Kid whispered desperately, raising his knife. "Once you enter Liar's world, there's no escape.Either you die… or you live regretting it."
Jason closed the distance in a blink.
He grabbed the knife.
Slammed Kid into the road.
"I have nothing left to lose."
His punch shattered teeth. Kid screamed, blood mixing with rain.
Kid clawed desperately and grabbed Jason's wounded leg, squeezing.
Jason hissed sharply—
—but didn't stop.
Pain didn't matter anymore.
Punch after punch landed. Kid's screams faded into choking gasps.
Suddenly—
CRACK.
Something slammed into Jason's side.
He staggered back, vision blurring.
Guards.
Kid's remaining bodyguards rushed in.
Kid laughed through blood. "Kill him! Kill him!"
Jason tried to steady himself. The world tilted. Too much blood. Too long fighting.
Still—he raised his fists.
"I would've killed you all…"
The guards circled. One charged.
Jason waited. Counted the steps.
One punch.
Down.
Two guards attacked together. Fists rained down on Jason. He took every hit, teeth clenched, legs shaking.
Then—
SHKRRK.
A blade slid into his stomach.
Jason gasped. Blood spilled from his mouth as he dropped to one knee.
Kid stood behind him, laughing wildly. "Now I got you. The savior of the city."
A kick struck Jason's face.
He fell flat on his back, rain washing over his bloodied face as he stared at the sky.
Is this the end?
No.
No—I can't stop here.
Jake…
I promised you.
Every part of his body screamed. Darkness crept at the edges of his vision.
A guard approached, weapon raised.
Jason's hand shot out.
He grabbed the guard's leg, used it to pull himself up, and slammed a punch into the man's jaw.
The guard collapsed.
Jason stood—barely.
"Don't worry, Jake," he whispered. "Your brother still has it."
Jason raised his fists again.
The guards hesitated.
He provoked them with a slight tilt of his head.
They rushed.
Jason struck once. Took two hits back.
Again. Again.
Endurance.
One by one, they fell.
The last guard collapsed with a dull thud.
Jason screamed upward, rage tearing out of his chest—
—unaware.
Behind him—
Kid staggered up, knife raised.
Suddenly—
CLANG.
Kid dropped instantly.
Jason spun.
A young man stood frozen, hands shaking, gripping a thick metal rod. His eyes were wide with terror.
"I—I hit him…" the student whispered. "I never hit anyone before…"
Jason stared.
"You…"
The student nodded. "You saved me. On that rooftop. When those bullies—"
Jason remembered.
"Why are you here?" Jason asked.
"I followed you," the student said,
swallowing hard. "I wanted to thank you.
Then I saw them beating you. I was scared… but if I stood there, I'd stay weak forever."
Jason was silent.
"Why risk your life for me?" Jason asked.
The student's voice steadied. "You did it for us. Why can't we do it for you?"
Jake's words echoed in Jason's mind:
People may be weak. But if you save even one… they might grow stronger.
Police sirens wailed in the distance.
Jason turned away.
Before leaving, the student called out, "Who are you? I saw you fall that day… I thought you were dead."
Lightning split the sky.
Jason ignored first then looked back once.
Bloodied. Broken. Still standing.
"Not a god."
And vanished into the rain.
