Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: One Bloody Mess

The massive X platform began to enclose around Xeanoz, and the demon-like creature, as she turned the floating fire X platform into a blue fire dome, then, in one swift snap of her fingers.

The dome started raining down with fire pellets.

The demon-like creature swerved, rushed, and dodged the shower of flames, and Xeanoz did the same, the two reaching one another.

Right before its claws clashed with Xeanoz's spear.

Sparks from the flames flew, and the two remained in close quarters with one another.

The demon-like creature immediately swung it's freehand to grab Xeanoz's spear, fortunately.

They were both forced to leap away from each other when a fireball landed above them before it seeped into the dome.

Xeanoz charged at the demon-like creature and slashed at it with her spear, and in response it threw consecutive precise punches which Xeanoz either dodged and counterattacked or was forced to block.

It then threw a nasty, overpowered right hook towards her jaw that fanned away the surrounding flames.

Xeanoz ducked in time, but sweat from how close the attack was; however, the low perspective she was at gave her an opening, so by taking the advantage, she thrusted the spear at its chest eye.

Unfortunately, it noticed and jumped back as far as possible, landing its back onto the flames of the dome.

It didn't care.

Its back burned and its skin peeled.

But it simply positioned its feet onto the dome and bent down horizontally.

It then propelled itself at her with a simple jump, and instantaneously struck her at the cheek.

But Xeanoz didn't falter or waver from the punch; instead, she turned her head, her eyes focused on the creature.

And with one forced and rapid thrust.

Her spear stabbed straight into its stomach.

And before it could set itself free, she quickly placed the spear above her shoulder and threw it like a Javelin.

And immediately opened a hole in the dome.

Xeanoz then held her hands out, one over the other, then she slowly brought them closer to together, and in response.

The spear that was driven through the demon-like creature's stomach became smaller.

As it became more confined it turned into a cube, and the fire within grew more and more aggressive.

And as Xeanoz's palms connected.

The cube exploded.

Causing blue blood to splash across the floor below.

Despite the win.

Xeanoz noticed that pedestrians below had all seen the explosion, they looked out of their homes and windows.

And those on the streets looked up as they recorded the azure, blue explosion above them.

And to make matters worse, they turned to the blue dome, staring at it with more intrigue and concern.

Everyone began to have their own theories; God sending a message, A new natural disaster, something from the government they couldn't cover up, or even – an alien invasion.

They began recording, taking videos and photos and sending them everywhere across the internet.

Each video receiving thousands upon thousands of views within the next few minutes.

Meanwhile.

Xeanoz swore under her breath and stayed deeper into the dome to avoid being seen.

"Dammit...why are there so many of them out at night."

As for the creature.

It lived.

Landing on the top of a roof. Bloodied. Before taking itself back up off the floor of the roof, attempting to leave to rejuvenate.

This caught Xeanoz's attention as she stared at it in disbelief.

"There's no way it's still alive."

"Was it holding back on me? If it has the strength to kill me, why would it willingly play a show when it was ordered to kill us?"

"Or mabye it's just tougher than I thought."

As Xeanoz was caught up in her own thoughts, she looked over in its direction, she saw it stand tall before ultimately falling back to the ground.

She realised she could get one or two answers in before it died or fell unconscious.

But she knew she had to do something to avoid being seen by the phones and people below.

So first she reverted her black sclera to white, and her eyelashes to their former black.

And immediately after, the dome began to collapse into a massive sheet of fire, as it fell on top of the car park, burning it down.

And with her final use of Soul Vapour, she propelled herself to the building where the demon-like creature was.

Converting the air into fire at her palms shooting herself at an extremely fast pace.

When she arrived, she stood at the roof's edge to keep a distance between her and the demon-like creature.

She stared at the bloodied thing before converting a small portion of the air into a soft flame and having it pass by the demon-like creature to get its attention.

It turned it's head and stared at her, and she spoke first.

"I won't kill you. But you have to tell me what you are."

It lay its head back onto the rooftop's floor and looked up at the night sky.

It coldly responded.

"I don't know what I am. I wish. That I did. But I have no explanation. What are you?"

Xeanoz remained silent; she opened her mouth to talk.

But then.

She felt an intense throbbing pain in her throat, and she gasped for air, but inhaled nothing.

As if her throat had squeezed shut.

She felt her head become lighter, and the throbbing of pain in every part of her body.

As if her skin were becoming tighter.

Her eyes widened as she gripped her neck.

"Fuck no, no, no, no, DAMN IT"

She punched and smashed the wall of a house next to her, struggling to hold onto her life.

And with one blink of her eyes.

She saw someone.

In black clothing and markings, they simply smiled at her with their face blurred.

She was in a quite bright place; clouds, waterfalls, and steel-like structures.

And as she returned to reality.

She glanced at the rooftop.

And fell.

Sam rushed at Drew, but with a single swift move, he ducked and rolled.

Avoiding the first swipe and the following punch.

"Get the fuck back here-"

"OH, SHUT THE FUCK UP,"

Drew yelled at the top of his lungs, cutting Sam off.

He didn't flinch at the words but sharpened the rods into blades by smacking them across a tree and scraping them down it repeatedly.

"You think you didn't deserve it? You killed a guy in broad daylight for what?! You threatened to kill my family!"

"You nearly killed Xeanoz, you broke my arm, and all you did was laugh! You deserved that! And for what else you've done with your fuckin', worthless life!"

Sam halted his arm and hand.

Drew hit a nerve.

Sam immediately jumped into the trees using his arms to send himself higher.

Drew was confused, and the silence remained, the pain of his broken arm stung even more, but before he could even say a word.

Sam launched himself downwards with incredible speed and strength.

A purple hue followed his movements, causing Drew to dart away as fast as possible.

His run was successful, but as he turned back.

The ground shook, and he fell to the floor.

The ground was catered.

Covered in purple fluid.

And the moonlight shone, and the park lamps began to bend; the light from both allowed Drew to see Sam's eye.

Which had depleted in size and focused solely on him.

With no hesitation, and only the struggle to stand back up.

Drew bolted away as Sam started taking shots with his gauntlet, firing sharpened and jagged rods.

"What am I doing?"

He thought as he ran through the park, avoiding the rods.

He wasn't as scared as he was earlier, but he still wanted to die, which was why he didn't understand why he was still running.

Within minutes, the entire park had been engulfed in flames and a purple fluid.

Sam was not taking his time with Drew, as he chased him down, laughing, mocking, and asking him, "Aren't you gonna give me what I deserve?!".

Drew then came to a halting stop when he couldn't hear Sam's laughter, and when the small assault of rods had ended, He got out of the pathway and hid within the trees.

He looked around for Sam.

And when he turned his head right.

"SMOKED!"

Sam launched from one of the trees, stabbing four of his rods into Drew's already injured right arm and simultaneously punching him.

That instant assault pelted Drew into a tree, as he screamed in agony, his blood poured and sprayed, and his broken arm was twisted behind his back due to the collision.

He didn't want to get up, and he couldn't get up.

He held onto his right shoulder, trying to fix his arm without making things worse.

"AAAAAAAAAHHH!"

His mouth stretched as wide as it possibly could while he yelled, screamed, and begged.

"HEL-"

His attempt to call for help failed as blood caught in his throat, causing him to choke and cough.

The blood from his arm seeped into his black t-shirt, and the heat inside the holes made the pain more aggravating.

Meanwhile, Sam walked over and picked Drew up by his high collar. He then punched him in the stomach with his gauntlet without the claws; his expression became irritated.

"You know, I was gonna kill you as fast as I did that old guy. But now? I think I wanna take my time with this, I heard your ass say you want to die."

"Nah, you don't get that courtesy, yet."

He continued to punch Drew as his frown began to rise into a sadistic grin.

Drew kept yelling – but no one heard – his eyes popping out of his face. Everything hurt.

His mind went numb; his eyes were becoming more and more lifeless.

Then.

The tips of his hair started to turn white.

Drew's mouth began to close.

Which made Sam raise his head, but not drop his grin.

And suddenly.

It was all stopped.

The punching, the hair colour, and Sam's laughter.

An explosive blast of blue fire and light appeared in the sky.

Sam dropped Drew instantly and ran to look at the light.

Through his visor, he saw the demon-like creature lose to Xeanoz and get blasted a mile away.

"Holy shit."

Sam muttered as he watched the explosion to see where his ally would land.

Drew fell to the floor.

He slowly stared up at Sam, the level of hatred he felt was immeasurable.

He stared at a shattered piece of a wine glass in a patch of daffodils beside him.

And threw his left arm over and over, while kicking his legs one at a time, forcing his body to move slowly towards the glass.

He grasped it in his left hand and jerked his broken arm, snapping it into place, so that both hands would hold it tightly.

But he held it too tightly, so much so that blood seeped from his palms.

Yet her persisted, and using whatever strength was left, he forced himself up and trudged over to Sam, as best as he could.

And when Sam turned around to Drew.

Drew lunged and struck the glass deep into Sam's chest.

He yelled in agony and dropped to the ground back-first, twisting and turning over whilst trying to pull the glass out from his chest.

While Drew panted, he stood slouching over Sam, then lifted his head up to the sky, bearing through the pain.

A tear ran down his cheek as the torture was becoming too much.

"From now on."

"I'm going to fight against this life...Until it kills me."

He declared, staring at Sam's body.

He could no longer see.

Yet he tried to leave the park.

He turned away, limping as he walked, even using a tree for support.

However, his eyes began to close slowly, and with every blink, his eyelids lowered, and the world started shifting.

Changing.

Becoming redder

Into a burgundy colour.

But.

He didn't care.

And with one final shut of his eyes.

THUD

He passed out.
