Synopsis
The Generals of House Xue tells the legendary saga of five heroic generations of the Xue family across the rise and fall of dynasties.
In the glorious Tang Dynasty under Emperor Taizong, the loyal warrior Xue Rengui rises from obscurity. Despite being suppressed by treacherous officials, he earns glory by defeating the Khitan and Goguryeo invaders—piercing through the Sky Mountain with three arrows, rescuing the emperor from the swamps of Yuni River, and winning the title of King of Pingliao.
Falsely accused and imprisoned due to court conspiracies, Xue is sent westward on a suicide mission. His son, Xue Dingshan, emerges from seclusion, claims command, and breaks the siege at Luoyang. The father-son duo sweeps across the western front. There, Dingshan falls in love with Xixia’s war goddess, Fan Lihua.
But love and duty collide when Fan Lihua’s past promise to General Yang Fan ends in blood—Xue Rengui falls by Yang’s arrow. Wracked by grief and betrayal, Dingshan divorces Fan thrice, only to reconcile before uniting to conquer Xixia and bring it under Tang rule.
Generations later, Xue Gang kills a corrupt official during Lantern Festival, slays the Crown Prince, and causes the emperor’s death in shock. The entire House of Xue is executed—three hundred loyal souls buried beneath Iron Hill.
But one survives. Xue Gang escapes to the greenwood, gathers the remnants of the loyalists, and wages a rebellion. As Wu Zetian usurps the throne, the last sons of House Xue—Xue Gang, Xue Kui, and Xue Jiao—ignite a final war, sweeping through Jiuyan Mountain and storming into Chang’an, restoring the rightful emperor Li Dan to the Tang throne.
This is a tale of blood, steel, and unbreakable loyalty.
This is the legend of The Generals of House Xue.
