Chapter 6 - Incomparable

When the children had calmed down, they returned to their previous state of excitement. Pancho, being the more experienced one, held the stone in his hand, imagining what to choose. He regretted that the stone could only grant one wish. But one thing was certain: the wish would not be a weapon; it had to be an invincible power.

He thought of several options, but suddenly he faced that frustrating situation when the opportunity is at hand, and your brain simply locks up. He forgot the best powers and started getting frustrated.

"This is serious? How… how is this not working?!" Kiala's voice complained.

"What's going on?" Danilo asked his daughter.

"I tried to use the scroll… and it said it's exclusive."

"Exclusive?" Danilo asked, confused.

"Yes. Only the challenger can use the rewards," she said, obviously upset.

After hearing his sister, Pancho tried to use the Wishing Stone. He expelled mana; now everyone had mana and could use it, although roughly due to their talent awakening.

A notification appeared:

Would you like to use the Wishing Stone?

"Yes," he answered, a little hopeful.

But then:

Error! Error! Error!

Exclusive item.

Only the Chosen One can use the Wishing Stone.

After seeing the notification, although he had already expected it, Pancho was still disappointed. A small hope still burned like a will-o'-the-wisp inside him.

"So only Dad can use it," Kiala said, still a bit annoyed.

"But it's okay… with Dad's talent, the stronger he gets, the better for us," Pancho said, calling his father "old" again. Before last month's drama, he always referred to his father that way.

"If I'm not mistaken, to evolve our talents, spiritual crystals are required, as the system notification said. And crystals are obtained from monster corpses. So the stronger Dad gets, the more monsters he'll kill. And the faster my talent will evolve," Pancho added, this time quieter, but with the same excitement.

After both handed their trophies to their father, Danilo decided to use them immediately.

He first used the Career Change Scroll. He injected mana, and the scroll glowed. Then a panel appeared before him.

The categories appeared:

Normal — Rare — Hidden — Unique

Danilo was a reincarnated being, but before reincarnation, he had been just an ordinary man… and an otaku. Even though hundreds of years had passed, he still remembered the basics of web novels. So he scrolled the list to Unique.

Many options appeared.

The listed abilities:

Blood Control

Sovereign of Time-Space

The classes were also color-coded. Most were silver, but many were gold as well.

To save time, Danilo decided to only read the golden ones.

The options:

Soul Necromancer

Shadow Monarch

As Danilo was about to choose Shadow Monarch—because of Solo Leveling—he knew the potential of having an army completely loyal to you—he saw a name in black, unlike the others.

That class was in absolute black.

Curiosity gripped him. Danilo swallowed hard, spoke out loud without realizing it, and decided to check the details of this mysterious class.

When he clicked to view…

Congratulations! You have changed to the Incomparable career.

"What the hell!?" Danilo exclaimed.

He had only wanted to check the details out of curiosity. The class he had already chosen was Shadow Monarch. After all, who would be foolish enough not to want an infinite, fully loyal army?

And the annoying thing was that he had only wanted to see the information…

And now he had changed to this damn class.

Worse: he had no idea whether it was powerful or not. After all, among all the colors he had seen, black was the only color that had just one class.

All the others had multiple options.

He prayed it was like in the novels…

That it was a superior class.

And he also prayed it wasn't a powerful but useless profession, like Dragon Tamer or God Slayer—which only activates if you tame a dragon that doesn't exist or kill a god that obviously would kill you with one breath.

Then he decided to look at the career description.

And what he saw changed everything.

The class was:

Incomparable — Unique

1. +1000% to all attributes.

2. Total immunity (Poison, Magic, Control).

3. Infinite regeneration. Regenerates everything: limbs, mana, blood. 10% per second.

4. Master of all weapons. Manipulates any weapon with absolute mastery.

5. Invincible martial arts. Total mastery of all martial arts.

6. Anti-magic.

"Oh my God…" Even he, an old monkey, couldn't contain his emotions.

This profession was truly terrifying.

Shadow Monarch was good…

But this was in no way inferior.

"Old man, did you choose?" Pancho asked, disbelief in his voice. "You should have asked for my advice first. I doubt you know anything; you probably chose a common profession."

He said, slightly regretful, after seeing the career change paper disappear.

Then Danilo opened the panel for his children to see and fell silent. He knew he couldn't reveal too many of his cards, but since it was the beginning, he thought there was no problem. And Kiala, seeing it, didn't comment much because she didn't really understand what it meant.

But Pancho was genuinely surprised; he only regretted not having a powerful active elemental skill.

"With this career, you're basically the god of war…" Pancho said, stunned.

Then he looked at the Opportunity Stone in his hand.

Danilo then looked at the mechanical orb in his other hand—the infinitely growing weapon.

Then the orb took the shape of a ring: silver, masculine, with a large C in the middle.

Seeing the orb transform into a ring, Pancho's heart sank once more. He felt that his father, in his ignorance, had wasted a golden opportunity. He could have created something unique and incredible. Wasted it on a shitty ring.

Danilo knew what his son was thinking but chose not to speak. Later, they would see the power of the Sky Killer Weapon.
