Dorothy's POV
I'm still so exhausted that I can barely open my eyes when the knock interrupts our rest. Every muscle aches, and it requires tremendous effort to focus.
"Forgive the intrusion, Alpha. May I have a word with you?"
The voice carries a familiar tone, though I can't immediately place it. Why wouldn't they just use the mind link?
I feel warm lips press against my head, reassuring and comforting. "Give me a moment, Gareth," Joseph responds, his voice rough with exhaustion that mirrors my own.
Gareth. The name triggers my memory as everything floods back. We're still guests in Alpha Damon's territory. Blinking against the dim light, I realize we're in an unfamiliar bedroom.
I force myself upright, noticing Joseph has dressed me in one of his oversized shirts. My bare feet hit the cold floor as I make my way toward the door. The sound of Joseph's low growl stops me in my tracks.
"Joseph?" I push the door open, concern threading through my voice.
