Damn it. This Alpha is far too perceptive for anyone's good. His sharp intelligence is likely what kept him breathing through countless battles and why most of his pack remains intact. It's also the reason he's maintained his position as Alpha through twelve brutal years of warfare.
"What if Dean is exactly who I'm running from? What would that change?" I challenge him.
"You haven't just been running from him, Dorothy. You've been in hiding for years. The difference is that now I understand exactly who threatens you. I'll shield you from any enemy that comes for us, but Dean will receive my special attention. I've already dispatched a warrior to gather your belongings from the university and eliminate every trace of your existence there."
