Deon's POV
"What the hell do you mean Joseph is still breathing, Demetrius?" My voice cuts through the phone like a blade. Demetrius had one simple task. End Joseph Murphy. He promised me he had everything under control, but instead of Joseph's funeral, Demetrius has managed to cripple his own forces.
"Listen, I had their doctor working for us from the inside. He was poisoning that pack slowly but surely. But then Joseph found his mate and apparently she's some kind of miracle worker. I'm telling you, Deon, we hit them hard two days straight. I have no clue what kind of magic that woman is working, but his pack came back stronger on day two than they were on day one. They should have been just as beaten down as my warriors, but they weren't. It was like nothing I've ever seen."
I lean back in my chair, processing this information. Demetrius knows how to fight and he's clever with his traps, but strategy isn't his strong suit. That's my department.
