the dark room

she sat in the corner of her dark room, the black walls staining her vision along with the cold of winter, feasting on her soul, she sat silently her throat lumpy from sobbing for too long until she heard a knock on the window, there was a man, almost the same age as her, not too old, he was smiling with curiousity as he knocked once again their eyes locking together, she was too scared to open the window the shadows of her room poisoning her mind with fear, but he didn't give up "hello?" he wrote on the foggy window "why r u alone?" he kept writing and wiping as she felt a little bet of comfort at his gentle patience "I am scared..." she wrote back from her sighed and his gaze softened and she could since a bet of sympathy in his eyes, in fact a lot of it "of what?" he wrote but she was too scared to answer, pulling the curtains and falling to the ground her back hitting the wall, she wrapped her arms around her knees as she curled up and felt an almost alien feeling, a fluttering warmth in her chest she had never experienced.
