Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Curiosity and Shadows

Scene 1 — After School, Continuation

The autumn air is crisp. Leaves rustle along the sidewalk as Akira stands a few feet from Kylori, grin still on her face.

> "So tell me, Meykami… who are you?"

Kylori's gaze lingers on her, dark and unreadable.

No answer comes immediately. He tilts his head slightly, weighing her boldness.

> "I'm… a student," he says finally. Calm. Precise. Minimal.

Akira chuckles, unshaken.

> "That's it? Just a student?"

> "Yes."

Her eyes narrow, curious.

> "You're… weird. Like, really weird. I like weird."

He doesn't smile. Not yet. Just observes.

> "You shouldn't follow me."

She shrugs.

> "I'm not following. I'm… investigating. Someone like you doesn't just exist in my school."

Kylori's eyes flick to the fading light, scanning the emptying streets. A faint shiver runs through him—not from fear, but from awareness. He senses curiosity… persistence… and Akira has both in abundance.

Scene 2 — Walking Together (Reluctant Proximity)

They walk side by side, though Kylori keeps a measured distance.

Akira hums a soft tune under her breath, trying to break the silence.

> "Seriously, how can someone look that calm all the time?"

Kylori doesn't answer. Just keeps walking, a shadow stretching slightly behind him in the dim light. Nothing about it seems unnatural—at least to Akira.

> "I bet people avoid you."

He glances at her briefly, neutral.

> "Yes."

> "Why?"

> "…It's easier."

Akira laughs, daring and bright.

> "You mean you don't like people?"

> "I dislike complications."

Her grin widens.

> "I see. So you're complicated, huh? I can work with that."

Scene 3 — The Small Cafe

They reach a small, quiet cafe on the corner.

Akira pushes open the door and glances at him expectantly.

> "You're coming in, right?"

Kylori hesitates, then nods. Calm, unreadable, and precise.

Inside, the warm light contrasts with the fading gray outside. Kylori sits at a table near the back, observing everything. Akira plops into the seat across from him, bouncing slightly on her heels.

> "So… tell me something. Something real about you. Anything."

Kylori studies her, silent. Her persistence amuses him in a quiet, internal way.

> "I don't know what you mean by real," he says at last.

> "Come on. Everyone has something. A secret. A quirk. Or a past they don't like talking about."

He tilts his head, considering.

> "…I was transferred here."

> "Transferred… yeah, okay. That's a start."

She leans closer, voice playful but sharp:

> "But that's not the 'real' you. The part you hide behind all that calm and those weird eyes. That's the part I want to know."

Kylori doesn't flinch. He doesn't panic. But something in him acknowledges that she's the first to push in years.

Scene 4 — Shadows and Distance

Outside, the last of the sunlight fades. Shadows stretch along the street.

Kylori's aura remains still, Gothic, calm, intimidating. His shadow falls across the floor normally, perfectly human to any passerby.

To Akira, it's just him—tall, pale, elegant, mysterious.

The faintest twitch runs along the edge of his vision, unnoticed. A pulse of something else, something hidden.

>"You don't really talk much," Akira observes.

>"I speak when necessary."

> "I'll remember that. So… when you do speak, it better be interesting."

He allows the smallest pause, a flicker of intrigue passing across his features—nothing more.

> "Understood."

Scene 5 — Parting for the Evening

They leave the cafe, stepping back into the cool evening.

> "Tomorrow," Akira says, "we're talking again. I don't take no for an answer."

Kylori doesn't reply immediately. He watches her walk ahead, then lets his gaze drift over the empty streets.

> "Interesting…" he thinks. Not dangerous, not threatening. Just… curious.

His shadow stretches normally behind him, his aura calm and untouchable.

And yet, beneath the ordinary, something eternal stirs—a presence Akira cannot perceive.
