Damian Sinclair watched from the side and said, "Talia cried a lot today."
"I know." Bella Acker's face showed guilt and regret, "I shouldn't have been so harsh on her."
"That's not why she's upset," Damian Sinclair said. "I asked her, and she said, 'Mommy is all by herself and it's so sad.' She's worried about you."
Bella Acker's hand paused as she was smoothing the little girl's hair, momentarily at a loss for words.
Damian Sinclair took her hand, pulled her up from the bedside and said, "The old man has left new pajamas for you here. Come on, go take a shower first."
"Okay." Bella Acker gently withdrew her hand from his palm, turned around, and picked up the pajamas placed on the single stool.
"I'll take you to the bathroom," Damian Sinclair said, and walked out of the bedroom first.
Bella Acker glanced back at the little girl sleeping soundly, then followed him out of the bedroom.
