Lilian's POV
Augusto stared at me with that predatory intensity, like he was ready to devour me whole. I instinctively pressed myself back against the headboard, my voice catching. "You should shower first, then just get some sleep."
As he approached, his dress shirt hung open, revealing that sculpted chest I knew far too well. I swallowed hard, craning my neck to meet his gaze.
That look in his eyes was unmistakable. It was the same hungry expression he got when his primal instincts took over. But tonight was the absolute worst time for this. My knees and palms still ached from our earlier confrontation, and the memory of his ruthless expression burned in my mind. I couldn't switch from fighting him one moment to pretending everything was perfect the next.
Just as panic started rising in my chest, Augusto suddenly leaned over me, eliminating any space between us.
