Chapter 2 - A night out

After spending the rest of the day getting teased by Akeno and Sakura, Vesper finally felt relieved when he heard the bell for the end of school.

"Hey, are we still good to hang out tonight. I don't have practice scheduled," Sakura asked as she packed her bag.

"Yeah, I'm still free, my mom is working he night shift, so I plan to eat out tonight," Vesper replied

Leaving the school, Vesper and Sakura began making thier way to the bus stop. Taking the bus to the middle of Shibuya, Vesper and Sakura started walking around and hanging out.

"Alright, first karaoke...the rest of my club members are there, so we can meet them," Sakur said, leading Vesper by the hand.

Making their way to the spot where all the other club members were, Vesper and Sakura spent a few hours there until everyone began to go home.

Still wanting to stay out, Sakura dragged Vesper around the city doing small activities until they ended up back in Kouh town, sitting on a bench near a park.

"I had a great time, thank you, Vesper," Sakura said as she drank her smoothie.

"I did too," Vesper replied

"By the way, I have been meaning to ask. You don't have to answer, but why did your parents name you Vesper?" Sakura asked.d

"Well, in truth, I got my name from my real mom. Elora adopted me when I was really young, before I could remember. She kept my old name, but I don't know why I was named Vesper."

"Oh, I didn't know you were adopted. I mean, I guess it makes sense you don't look like your mother at all," Sakura replied

"Do you ever get curious about who your parents were?"

"Yeah, but Elora has been thier for me since forever, so I don't really care who my parents were. If they wanted me, they would not have left me," Vesper replied

"I see...Anyway, I should be getting home; it's already really late," Sakura sighed.

"I will walk you home," Vesper said, standing up.

As they walked to Sakura's house, they talked about school, home, and life in general while enjoying each other's company.

"Looks like we're here," Vesper said as they arrived at her front gate.

"Yeah, I guess so," Sakura replied as she fidgeted with her hand.s

"Have a good night, Sakura. See you tomorrow," Vesper said as he was about to turn around.

But right before he did, Sakura rushed up to him and kissed him on the cheek before rushing into her house.

Standing there for a few moments, Vesper was left shocked before he gathered himself. Touching his cheek, he let out a small chuckle before walking about towards his house.

As he was walking, he felt the feeling of being watched. Turning around and seeing nothing, Vesper shrugged his shoulders and kept moving down the street. Suddenly, he heard a loud thud behind me.

Stopping completely and turning around, Vesper saw something that froze him in place. A monster around three meters tall with the hea dof a bird a human body dressed in dark tattered clothing a four black wings on its back.

"hmm finally a human...I have waited so long to taste one again," the creature spoke in a high-pitched voice that made Vespers' mind ache.

"Wh-what the hell!?" Vesper asked, fearfully, as he took a step back.

Suddenly, before he could react, Vesper was flung back into a tree with a single punch. Colliding with the tree, Vesper let out a grunt of pain as he felt something in his back snap.

Falling to the floor, Vesper could not focus as his vision blurred and sounds became distorted. Sturggelign and unable to move, Vesper could only watch as the creature walked up to him and picked him up by the neck.

(What is happening... it's hurt... it hurts alot) Vesper thought as the pain from the collision hit him in a sudden wave

"Humans are so weak, I only meant to give you a small smack the creature joked. Well, I guess I should finish my meal before I get caught," the creature said as it opened its mouth and brought Klaus to its mouth.

As a feeling of impending death and fear hit him, Vesper struggled with all his strength, but it was futile.

Suddenly, the creature stopped and sniffed Vesper twice.

"Another human...female...A partner, perhaps," the creatures said with a puzzled look

"N-no...stay...stay away from her," Vesper struggled as he tried to throw a punch.

"So it is a partner...Maybe I should eat her in front of you first," the monster said with a menacing grin as it laughed.

Dropping Vesper on the ground, the monster broke his legs with a single stomp./

"GAHHHHH!!" Vesper let out an agony, filled with a cry as the monster crushed his legs.

"Stop yelling, I will be back," the monster said as it began walking towards Sakura's house.

"No...no, please stop...just take me, leave her alone," Vesper pleaded as he dragged his broken body towards the monster.

"Ah, yes, this is what I love....the absolute despair knowing you can't do anything," the crow monster laughed.

As it turned around, Vesper felt the despair grow. Reaching his hand out, he attempted to stop the monster by grabbing its foot, but it only looked down at Vesper and kicked him to the side.

"Please...please don't hurt her," Vesper begged with all his energy.

Dragging his body inch by inch by inch towards the monster.

"Please, I will do anything, just don't touch her...DON'T HURT HER!!!" Vesper yelled as blood dripped down his mouth

As he was about to lose consciousness, Vesper was suddenly surrounded by a pillar of black and golden energy that swirled into a pillar in the sky.

Turning to see the sudden burst of energy, the crow monster saw Vesper, on the brink of death, standing before him with midnight-black hair that reached his waist, cross-slit golden eyes, and a blade that was the perfect union of the sun and moon.

"I said to stay away from her," Vesper said before he suddenly disappeared.

"What the?" Before the crow monster could register what was happening, he felt a sharp pain in his back

Looking back, he saw all his wings were cut off as a golden flame was burning his back. Falling to his knees, the crow let out a scream in agony.

"You bastard!" the crow screams as it sends a wave of shadow crows at Vesper.

But before the crows reach Vesper, they all suddenly got absorbed into Vesper's body, and he sent them back at the crow monster, but these were far larger and stronger.

Colliding with the crow monster, each crow exploded, causing a cluster of dark energy to assault the crow. As the dust faded away, the crow lay on its back, missing limbs and bleeding profusely.

Walking up to the crow monster, Vesper looked down at it.

"J-just what are you?" the crow monster asked weakly as he coughed up blood.

Not speaking, Vesper lifted his blade and, with one clean cut, chopped off the monster's head, killing it.

As the monster's corpse began turning into dust and being blown away by the wind, Vesper fell to the floor, passing out and returning to his previous look.
