~TESSA'S POV~
The boardroom felt suffocating the moment I stepped inside. Long glass tables, men and women in sharp suits, their gazes turning toward me like a spotlight I hadn't asked for.
I really wished at this moment I didn't sign the contract. I could definitely perceive there were humans on the board.
I took a step closer to Robert. This wasn't my field and honestly I don't know what to say. If it were fashion, my confidence level would be too notch.
"This is Tessa," Robert announced, hand firmly on my back as he guided me to the seat beside him. "She's here to stay."
Murmurs rippled across the table. Everyone's gaze fixed solely on me. One man leaned forward, voice skeptical. "With respect, Mr. Miller, last night's headlines painted her as…"
Headlines, again. I actually thought Robert said he would take if it. Or maybe he did and another was released. Now I fully understood why they were staring at weirdly.
