Chapter 29 - Chapter 29. Friends(3)

It was around midnight when I arrived infront of the main gate of the Forest Elf Village.

I was walking on the ground while the Dila was walking behind me.

I could see some adult elves walking infront of the main gate. They were probably returning to their home. They looked like soldiers as few of them were in greenish armor and had scars on their body.

They all were really beautiful.

I took a step in the village and those elves turned towards me. I could feel the hostility coming from them for me.

They really hated me. I mean, how could they not? We players did really bad things to their race. It was their right to hate us.

For some reason the weather turned cold that night. I could feel the winds getting colder and colder. I could see the fog building up infront of my eyes.

But I could also see someone coming towards the main gate—towards me, someone familiar.

A masculine elf, a really familiar elf—Elwyn.

The moment he saw me a smile came on his face.

He was trembling from cold, I could see that clearly but along with that he was waving his right hand towards me while calling out to me.

"Hey! You have returned! "

"Elwyn! "

Trembling in cold, I ran to him.

As I was exhaling, fog was coming with my breath out of my mouth.

It was really really cold for some reason.

The night sky was really beautiful—no pollution totally clean. I could see millions of stars in the sky, a pretty silver colored moon and a bit of violet color behind the black sky.

The cold breeze passed through us moving our hairs.

Elwyn asked with a calm and composed voice, "So, did you complete your first quest? "

I chuckled after hearing his words. My face a bit red from the cold.

And so I replied with a calm and composed voice, "I nailed it. "

Elwyn's expressions changed into something we would call proudness. That's what it was probably.

He was really happy and I could see on his face that he was really proud of me.

At that monent, he reminded me of someone, someone really dear to me—my bestfriend.

There was a smile on my face and with that smile I looked towards the beautiful night sky, exhaling a deep breath along with the fog.

I could feel his presence in Elwyn's words, I could feel that Elwyn and his personality was somewhat similar. Well, I didn't know what he was doing, and if he even know about my condition. Well, if he do, he will come to see me and I was sure of it.

Elwyn raised both his hands to his mouth and joined them and then exhaled a breath on his hands which came with the fog of course.

His hands were slowly turning reddish from cold.

He asked me, "You and Dila must be hungry, right? "

I chuckled once more rubbing my head with my right hand and replied, "Well, yeah. "

And so the Dila cried in approval.

He turned back and said, "Well then, my wife and daughter have prepared a really delicious dinner for you and for the Dila. Come on, follow me. "

The coldness was slowly increasing for some reason.

My hands also started to turn reddish.

I looked behind towards the Dila and for some reason, the Dila wasn't feeling any cold. It was like always, totally normal.

That was something which caught me off guard.

I mean there was a clear statement in the webnovel about it but still, I had expected atleast a bit of emotion of feeling coldness. But there was none.

Wish I had a body feature like the Dila. Not getting affected by the cold, by the heat, by the rain, but that's what makes us human.

Feeling different emotions, sometimes happiness, sometimes anger, sometimes frustration and sometimes nothing at all.

Well, I was inside Elwyn's house now.

When I entered, I was greeted by the charming daughter of Elwyn.

That little girl was so energetic that she startled me the moment she screamed after she saw me.

Then her mother, she was also happy to see me come back.

And to my surprise, they hadn't eaten the dinner. They all were waiting for my arrival, waiting for me to come back and eat with me.

I was wondering while hearing all this—what if I didn't have come back. What if I had failed, would they come searching for me?

The answer was something I didn't dare to imagine.

I mean, why get into this complicated thing and ignore the moment I could feel with them.

I told them my heroic tale of how I saved everyone and how I met Ice and who she was.

Elwyn asked me to bring her in the village so that I can introduce her to everyone.

Even Elwyn's daughter wanted to meet her.

When I told them about her and how she was so helpful, the first thing Elwyn's daughter said was, "I want to meet the big sister who helped my big brother. "

She reminded me of my own younger sister.

Feeling all those emotions and missing my own family did make a tear fall off my eyes.

But I somehow covered it up.

And now It was time to sleep.

The coldness increased and increased. I was totally shivering in cold.

Elwyn asked, "Is it too cold now? "

We were in Elwyn's room.

The mother went to sleep with her daughter while Elwyn and I got this room to sleep.

It was a moderate size one, had two cabinets opposite to each other with two study tables on each side of the bed having a lamp on top of them.

The bedsheet was greenish colored.

There was a carpet on the floor which was made up of crimson leaves and it was really soft.

And to my surprise there was also a chandelier on the ceiling, it was made up of crystals light greenish in color.

It was a pretty beautiful room.

We were getting ready to sleep when Elwyn asked me that.

I turned towards him while my hands crossed and my whole body trembling with cold.

I said, "Yeah, but why is it so cold? "

Elwyn gave a heavy sigh and replied, "Well, you see. While you were away few players infiltrate into the forest area near our village. They were planning to attack us but somehow we managed to kill them all. And to protect ourselves from any ambush, we asked the help of one of my father's old friend's daughter—an Ice Elf. This is all her doing. "
