"What are you giving me that look for? I just want to have a small talk with you. That is all. I promise I will not do anything else to you."
His tone was light, almost playful, but it did nothing to ease the tight knot in my chest. He tugged me toward the sofa before pushing me down to sit. His grip was firm enough to make resistance feel pointless.
Everything in my body warned me not to do that, since it was a trap. But I still found myself following the orders given to me and sitting down.
Seeing me act obediently made the man in front of me smile in a terrifying manner.
The curve of his lips sent a chill down my spine.
"Hmm, it's nice to see that you know how to behave. So many others do not know and end up… in problematic situations. Ah, don't worry. I will not be rough with you. I have no intention of getting on your partner's bad side."
The man told me, but that did not help me feel any better. If anything, his words made my breathing shallow.
