Nicole's defense was supposed to make things easier for me.
But I could immediately tell that it had done more harm than it had done good. The tension in the room thickened instead of easing.
The scouts' faces held polite smiles, but their hidden intentions were…not so hidden at the moment.
"So…since you have stepped into the industry now, Miss Jenna, does that mean you will be taking auditions and accepting people we recommend to train? Surely you won't say no to our old partnerships?"
A female scout tried to push for it, only to be quickly shot down by Nicole.
"That remains to be seen. The talent Miss Jenna brought to us was generational. Not only is his face S-class, but he also has talent to back it up. If you bring someone that exceptional, then I will consider it. For now, please hold the auditions seriously and don't just pass anyone random."
Nicole's words made the scouts grit their teeth and the room fell uncomfortably quiet.
