V shot at the Arrancar with strength and precision. Precisely at his head, but the Arrancar tilted his head with ease. "Whoa, buddy, slow down," the Arrancar said in a teasing tone. "Why the rush? Let's have fun while fighting." His body blurred and vanished.
The Quincy immediately moved his bow to the back of his head—
KLANG-ZAPTR!
The bow blocked the blade aimed at the Quincy's neck. The Arrancar whistled with amusement. He swung his blade at Quincy again, with more speed in it. The Quincy crouched down, dodging the blade, and with a swift motion turned his body around and shot at the Arrancar's ankle.
When the arrow hit the Arrancar, he groaned a little. He stepped back, giving both him and Quincy some distance. "Hey, what was that smooth movement? Were you training with this deadly style?" the Arrancar asked with a smirk on his face.
"Yes and no." The Quincy answered flatly. The Arrancar raised his eyebrow in confusion.
"What do you mean by 'Yes and no'?"
"Yes, for the fact that I was training, and no, for the fact that I wasn't training with style. In fact, I don't care if I had style or not. I only need to eliminate my opponent; that's all."
The Arrancar's smirk widened; he gazed at the girl behind him and back at the Quincy. "You know what? I like you more than the girl, and I decided to kill then I'll kill the girl."
"Thanks, you saved me some work." Quincy's eyes drifted to Yuzu, who held her sister's body, and she was confused about what happened since she couldn't see Ghost. "Kurosaki Yuzu, go and take your mother's lucky charm and run away. I will deal with this evil spirit!"
"But—"
"Hurry up and go; there is no time!" the Quincy cut her off and shouted. She then carried her sister and ran.
"Hah. I thought you were smarter than that; the girl won't escape from me. And you should realize that." The Arrancar said in a teasing tone.
"Yeah, I know. That's why I will stall time until Kurosaki Ichigo arrives." The Quincy said in an expressionless voice and with a stoic face.
# Kurosaki's Clinic #
Meanwhile, Yuzu entered the house and put her sister's body on the couch. "Karin-Chan…" Before arriving, she noticed the coldness in her sister's body, as if she were dead, but Yuzu wasn't accepting it. "This has to be a dream, right? There's no way Karin-Chan is dead, right?" She muttered with an unreadable expression.
The girl shook her head and went to her parents' room; her gaze went to a desk near their bed. She opened the drawer and saw the cross necklace. Her eyes showed uncertainty about whether to take it. A few moments later, she took the necklace and ran outside.
When she opened the door, her eyes met a figure falling in front of the house. It was V, and there was blood on his face. "Onii-San!"
"It's okay, I'm alright." He said with a stoic expression.
A laugh erupted as the Arrancar appeared with a sadistic smirk on his face. "Would you look at this. The little girl is still here." He looked at the Quincy, his Zanpakuto resting on his shoulder. "How unfortunate that the last thing she will see is your corpse. Ooohh, I would love to see her despair fa—"
"Can you shut your mouth?" V cut the Arrancar off. "You kept talking while we fought, and all I heard was you yapping. It's so noisy, you know that?"
"What did you say?"
"You heard me." Quincy got up and looked at the Arrancar. "I don't get it that you feel enjoyment or pleasure from hurting others. I don't see any fun in it."
"Hah. Someone like you would never understand that. Seeing others getting hurt is truly fun when you see their fearful expressions and despair. It gives me pleasure as the strong being!" He pointed his Zanpakuto towards V. "And the fact that you don't understand means you are weak, and that blood on your face is the proof."
"Wrong, I was the one who let this happen." The Quincy said in a low voice.
"What?" the Arrancar was puzzled.
"I said I let it happen, and I did that to measure your power and see what type of fighter you are." V's eyes slowly shifted to a cold one. "And you're totally weak; I can kill without need for my bow." His body blurred for a moment, and the Arrancar found himself thrown against the wall, with a hand gripping his face.
'Wha— What just happened?' The Arrancar's eyes widened in shock, his gaze on the Quincy who held his hand on his head. 'Impossible! There is no way; he can't be—"
"That strong? That powerful? Is that what you are thinking right now?" V cut Arrancar's thought off. The Quincy lifted him and punched his body. The Arrancar's body was thrown away by it. "See? You are weak to the point that I couldn't show you how powerful I am."
Then Yoruichi and Karin appeared, and they saw Yuzu and V. "Yuzu!" Karin shouted as she ran to her sister.
Yoruichi, on the other hand, looked at the place where the Arrancar landed and turned to V. "It seems you take care of things so easily." She crossed her arms and smiled. "If you were that strong, then why did you give Karin the Shinigami? I don't see the point of doing that."
As she asked, the Arrancar jumped off his place and screamed at them. "Damn it! Damn it! You will pay for that! I will never let you die so easily!" he roared, and Hollows came and surrounded them. Then the Arrancar shouted out his Zanpakuto name. >>Shred, Desgarrón!<< (Desmenuza, Desgarrón!)
The bone mask on his lower jaw shatters, splits, and expands; it grows massive, unhinging his mouth. His skin calcifies rapidly, turning into a thick, gray, uneven armor that looks like dried mud. His fingers elongate into heavy, serrated bone rakes.
Karin was horrified by the scene unfolding in front of her. "What?! What happened to him?! His body changed?!"
"That's his resurrection form. He and his kind can change into that to release their true hollow powers." Yoruichi explained to Karin. "And I bet those hollows and him releasing his power are the reason you act like that." She said at V.
"That's right. Even if we're both strong, we can't protect the twins, and that would lead to their death." He took out his cross and created his bow. "That's why I gave Karin Shinigami powers, so she can protect herself and her sister."
Yoruichi scoffed and smirked. "I see. Well? Shall we beat that fool?"
"Do you have to ask?" V answered her as he started shooting at the Arrancar and the Hollows near him. "The answer is yes. We shall beat him up."
