Chapter 6 - CHAPTER SIX

WILL POV

"Why are you doing this, Cullen? We are friends and business partners," Dad's voice broke as he knelt down, holding Mom closely.

I peeped from the wardrobe and watched the man dressed in a black outfit laugh with mockery and deceit laced his voice.

"Friends? I was never your friend or business partner," he scoffed. "I've always hated you for being the smart and lucky one," he hissed.

"And you.." he said facing mum, "I promised you that I would get back at you for what you did"

Some sobbed continuously, "Why are you doing this to us?"

"Isn't it obvious enough? I hate both of you. I'll take everything you've built. And I'll erase your bloodline from the surface of the earth," he snickered.

Mum shook her head. "No, no. You can kill us, torture us, but please leave our son out of it. Don't hurt Andrea. He's innocent," Mum cried, clutching onto the man's legs.

"Hmm, I'll do as you've said," he let out a dry chuckle.

Soon gunshots went off, startling me.

I jolted out of my sleep, heart racing. My sheet was soaked in sweat. I buried my face in my palm when I realized it was just a dream.

My eyes darted to the wall clock, and it was past 12:00 a.m. Reluctantly, I got out of bed and strode to the minibar.

I grabbed a bottle of scotch and took big gulps from the bottle.

The harshness burned my throat, but it couldn't be compared to the pain in my heart.

Slamming the bottle on the table, my muscles tense.

The red splatter on the curtains. My parents' last breath. The metallic stench was so strong that I could taste it.

They've had enough time for peace. Now, it's my time to turn their world upside down. To make it chaotic.

I picked up my phone and dialed Raymond's number. He answered on the second ring.

"What?..." he grumbled annoyingly.

"It's time," I said. There was a brief silence before he spoke up.

"Why the rush?" He asked, his voice cleared this time.

Yeah, why the rush? But still, seventeen years is enough time. "The nightmare is back," I informed him.

"How? What triggered it?" He asked, sounding surprised.

I shrugged as if he could see me. "I have no idea, but that doesn't matter. Let the game begin" I added.

"On it boss," he replied and with that I hung up.

At my mental breakdown three years ago, I hadn't dreamt about that night. Though I never forgot, it had been a while since my brain replayed the vivid event of that night.

Cullen and Co. I'm coming for you all. I walked into the bathroom and splashed water on my face and head before heading back to the bedroom.

My head snapped in the direction of the door when I heard a knock on the door. Who would be out there by this time of the night?

I opened the drawer and took out my gun, carefully hiding it behind my back.

"Who is that?" I asked, but got no response. After a few seconds, the person knocked again. I twisted the door knob and opened it.

I almost shot the person when Lucy's face appeared. "Lucy?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Will you let me in? I'm freezing," she mumbled.

"Are you alone?" I asked, and she nodded, rolling her eyes. I opened the door wider and she walked in.

After confirming it was safe, I closed the door and locked it. I turned to her, and she was standing, staring at me.

"Why are you here, Lucy?"

"I'm sorry for disturbing you. The thing is, I had a bad dream so I couldn't go back to sleep. Besides, the room is too quiet" she whispered.

Seriously? So what does she want now? The room remained silent as we both looked at each other.

My phone dinged, and it was a message from Raymond.

"The package has arrived"

The corners of my lips stretched into a small smirk.

"Did Grey tell you when he'd be coming back?" She asked, gaining my attention.

Grey? My thoughts spiraled as I heard his name. Unfortunately, I don't think he'd be coming back anytime soon. He'll be busy for a while.

"No," I said sharply. "You haven't answered my question, Lucy. "Why are you here?" I gritted my teeth, annoyed at myself that I was letting myself be distracted by her presence.

"Uhm," she stuttered, biting her lower lip. Shit!

"Can I sleep here tonight? I can take the couch, so I don't inconvenience you," she begged.

I paused, my eyes holding hers in an intense gaze. Why does she want to be close to me after pushing me away?

"Sure," I agreed and she looked at me like she didn't trust me. Maybe a bit stunned, I said yes without argument.

To others, I'm just a bodyguard, so I ought to do my work. I have somewhere to be, so she can just stay here instead.

"Anything else?" I inquired, but she shook her head. I nodded and climbed onto the bed and I observed her.

She was uncomfortable at first, but soon she was fast asleep, snoring away.

Exactly at 1:00 a.m. I covered her with the duvet. I left her and walked to the closet to get dressed.

I wore an all black outfit, including a cap. I tucked my gun in my trousers. Walking out, Lucy was snuggling the pillow, letting out sighs of relief.

After ensuring the room was secured and she was deep asleep, I left the suite and locked the door.

A black SUV was waiting. I opened the back door and got in, and we zoomed off. The midnight air stilled, like it knew something bad would happen.

We arrived at the location after an hour of driving. The place was highly secured enough to attract attention but wouldn't because it's prohibited to come to this part of the island.

Besides, I own the island and can do whatever I want.

"Boss," my men bowed as I walked into the building, while I just nodded.

Entering the room that Raymond mentioned earlier, I saw him sitting on the chair and a few men in the cell.

He noticed my presence and stood up "you're here" he said, as he got rid of the cigarette. I moved and saw our special guest.

Raymond did a good job as usual. He was beaten and battered.

"Potter Hills," I called his name but he only groaned. I urged my men and they poured water on him and he hissed in pain.

"Look at me." I commanded and he did. "Do you recognize me?" I asked but shook his head.

I scoffed. Old age is a bitch, isn't it?

"How have you enjoyed your long vacation so far?" I seethed, but he only stared at me with droopy eyes, his breath rasped.

"Liam and Serena Perkins," I stated. His jaws dropped, eyes almost bulged out of its sockets.

A sly smirk appeared on my face. That's right. There was no way he would have forgotten his betrayal seventeen years ago.

That look of shock and fear is what I want to see. There was no point in being guilty. No matter how sorry they are, my parents are never coming back.

"Who.. who are you?" He stuttered with quivering lips. Sweat was quickly forming on his forehead.

"Andrea Perkins, but people now know me as Will Cannon" I announced.

He crouched and backed away. Desperately trying to make himself smaller, as he trembled.

"That's impossible" he shook his head in denial

My hands balled into tight fists. "Why? because Cullen assured everyone that he killed me?" I scoffed.

"Well, he didn't, and although many people didn't know about you, I do. Also I'm aware you do all of his dirty work. An under dog"

"Your betrayal was hidden but I forgettable" I growled.

"I apologize for what happened to your parents. I shouldn't have colluded with Mr. Dipson," he breathed, slapping himself.

"What do you want me to do? I promise to do it, please just spare my life," he cried and I nodded.

"Go on" I said coldly and stepped back while my men did what they did best. With every cut, he cried so hard that it sliced through the silence, but I didn't flinch.

Slowly, life slipped away from him, and soon he kicked the bucket.

"You know what to do with it, right?" I

asked Raymond, and he nodded. I patted his shoulder and left.

Taking this one life isn't enough. I would stop at nothing, till they are all gone.
