Chapter 10 - It's Jessica

"One bottle, two bottles, three bottles..."

On the table were several bottles filled with weight loss tea. After counting, there were a total of twenty bottles.

"Twenty bottles, that should be enough!"

I muttered to myself as I grabbed my backpack and stuffed the weight loss tea inside. At six thousand per bottle, that amounted to a tidy sum of one hundred and twenty thousand.

"Next, this one, one bottle, two bottles... eight bottles, that's enough too."

I packed another kind of medicine into my backpack.

Finally, there were the beauty products, totaling ten boxes.

After stuffing everything in, the backpack was full to bursting. I carefully hefted the backpack onto my shoulders and headed out the door. Upon reaching the town, I bought an electric tricycle and made my way to the shop.

By the time I arrived at Azure Vista Pavilion, it was already noon.

"Thompson! You finally came." Mr. Jay was standing in front of Building 18, excitedly shouting as soon as he saw me.

It had only been a day, and I almost couldn't recognize him; Mr. Jay had lost a good forty to fifty pounds and looked merely chubby now. The contours of his face had completely changed, and he actually appeared somewhat handsome.

Beside Mr. Jay stood a charming woman in her thirties, Mr. Jay's wife, whose name was Sarah Garcia.

"Jay, madam!"

I got off the vehicle and greeted them.

"Thompson! Your medicine is truly miraculous. Just look, after using it for a day, my skin has become so much fairer," Sarah Garcia said, raising her left hand to show me.

She then raised her right hand.

You could see a stark difference between the two hands, the left hand was fair, while the right one appeared much duller.

Seems like the effect is quite good! I thought to myself.

"Thompson, did you bring more? Let me see!" Sarah Garcia said impatiently.

"Yes! I brought ten boxes," I replied as I opened my backpack and took out ten boxes of beauty products.

Sarah Garcia was overjoyed, bubbling with excitement.

"Thompson, what about mine?"

Mr. Jay grew anxious.

"Don't worry, it's all here, eight bottles in total," I said as I handed over one bottle after another.

Mr. Jay carefully cradled them in his arms as if they were precious treasures.

"Eight bottles! My goodness!" Mr. Jay laughed delightedly.

"I also have weight loss tea, a total of twenty bottles. Mr. Jay, do you want all of them?"

"Of course, I'll take as many as you have. After trying them out, my friends are all clamoring for more. There's no shortage of people wanting them," Mr. Jay said.

"Alright then!"

I handed over the backpack.

"Let me see, the medicine here, let's say two thousand per bottle, eight bottles would be sixteen thousand. Weight loss tea, one bottle is six thousand, no, let's make it eight thousand, those folks have plenty of money. Even at a higher price, they'd buy, so that's sixteen thousand too."

"As for the beauty products... Thompson, how much do you plan to sell them for?"

"Jay, you decide!"

"How about five thousand, ten boxes would be fifty thousand, making it a total of thirty-seven thousand. Thompson, I'll transfer the money to you in a bit," Mr. Jay said.

"Alright!" I responded.

At this moment, Mr. Jay looked at the parcels on the tricycle and said, "Thompson, with all you've earned, why are you still delivering packages? I've never admired anyone like this, Thompson, you're the first."

"Thompson, you're truly remarkable, a hidden genius. With your capabilities, why bother delivering packages? Just selling these medicines would make you rich."

"Exactly!" agreed Sarah Garcia. "Hey, Thompson, do you have a girlfriend? If not, Garcia can introduce one to you."

I blushed deeply and quickly said, "No need!"

"Oh, you shy thing!" Garcia laughed.

After bidding farewell to the couple, I sped away on my tricycle.

I considered that I should indeed quit this job. I still had about sixty thousand, and with the additional thirty-seven thousand, I had a total of ninety-seven thousand, a modest sum.

I was sure I could earn more in the future.

However, I thought for a moment, since there wasn't anything else urgent, I might as well continue delivering packages. Moreover, having been in the hospital for half a month, Uncle Brown had kept my position for me, so it wouldn't be polite to resign immediately.

I decided to wait a while before informing Uncle Brown, saying they had found someone new, then I could resign.

My phone vibrated in my pocket, and upon looking, the money had just been transferred.

"Ninety-seven thousand..." I felt a surge of warmth. How long would it have taken me to earn this much in the past?

"Should I buy something?" I wondered, looking down at my shabby clothes, my old phone, and my worn-out shoes.

After pondering, I decided against it, "No need, ninety-seven thousand isn't much, I should invest it wisely, buy more Lingzhi and herbs, improve my cultivation, reach the Middle Stage sooner, and start practicing magic."

"Clothes and such are superficial, unnecessary. Oh right, I should buy something for Uncle Brown."

Suddenly, I remembered Garcia's teasing comment earlier.

"Girlfriend, huh..."

I sighed, and a particular image appeared in my mind: a girl with a ponytail, sweet and pretty, with dimples appearing when she smiled.

The girl was named Tiffany Wilson, the first girl I ever liked.

They were once inseparable, but later their relationship was stolen, and the culprit was none other than Oakfield No. 1 High School's principal's son, Jason Martinez.

It was because of this incident that I got into a fight with Jason Martinez and was expelled from school.

To be fair, Jason had provoked me first, and was the one who threw the first punch, but what could I do? His father was the principal, and though I resented it, I was helpless.

Ever since entering society, I struggled for survival, constantly teetering on the edge of poverty, and had little time to think about love. Hearing Garcia's suggestion sparked a little interest for the first time in a long while.

For some reason, I found myself thinking of Jessica, her lovely face appearing in my mind.

As I got off the vehicle, I rummaged through the parcels, and my gaze suddenly fixed on one of them.

"Building No. 9... it's Jessica!"

I was taken aback, thinking how coincidental it was.

After dialing her number and confirming she was home, I headed to Building No. 9.

I rang the doorbell, and shortly after, a graceful and beautiful woman appeared at the doorway.
