Chapter 132 - 132: Defeating Big Mom (1/?)

Big Mom knelt on the rubble, two swirling masses of purple soul energy flickering in her palms. With a firm motion she pressed both spheres onto her deformed, twisted ankles.

With a loud cry she shouted, "Revive, bones."

The purple soul energy seeped steadily into her mangled limbs. In moments, her feet writhed as they healed, bones and flesh knitting back to their original form.

Rolan's eyes narrowed. He had almost forgotten that Big Mom possessed this ability.

"Mother Visit Cannon: Three Thousand Miles," Big Mom cried out, her voice resonating with power.

At the tip of her blade, a giant, naked blue figure appeared, the fusion of fire, lightning, and blade energy creating a strange, towering form. The lower body connected to the sword like a massive serpent twisting through the air.

Rolan watched the imposing apparition and forced a cool breath. An Emperors truly could not be defeated so easily. After all, years of dominance in the New World had seen countless challengers, yet none had succeeded in overthrowing her.

Before he could fully process this, the blue woman struck. In an instant she appeared before him, claws flying with blinding speed.

"Damn, she's fast!"

The assault came in a blur of fists. Rolan could not use instant transmission to escape; the strikes were too rapid. He met her barrage with his own fists.

Bang.

Bang.

Bang.

Each collision echoed like thunder across Cake Island. Tremors rippled through the ground, tearing gashes and sending stones flying in every direction.

Even so, the blue woman fought without fatigue, relentless and unyielding, as if programmed to end her target without pause.

Rolan gathered his electromagnetic power. With a clenched fist raised to the sky, a massive electromagnetic dragon took form in the air.

"Electromagnetic, Thunder Dragon Descends!"

The dragon solidified, roaring to life. At Rolan's command it dove toward the blue warrior, colliding with her in a brilliant flash of light.

The radiance grew until everyone nearby shielded their eyes.

When the brightness finally faded, both the thunder dragon and the blue figure had vanished.

Rolan hovered among the ruins, stained with blood at the corner of his mouth. This was the first time he had been injured since his fight with Garp.

He forced himself to stand straighter, mind replaying the moment he had been momentarily distracted. He refused to say what had caused it, though the memory made him grit his teeth.

Big Mom, seeing that her attack achieved little, was furious. Prometheus, Zeus, and Napoleon looked battered, wilted by Rolan's thunder dragon assault.

She summoned purple soul energy once more, focusing it into her left palm.

"Grant you life and revive."

Three pulses of energy surged into her allies. Prometheus flared brighter, Zeus's thunderclouds strengthened, and Napoleon regained his spirit.

"Mama," Big Mom said with fury, sheathing her blade.

In a flash she leapt, spinning as she struck toward Rolan. In less than a heartbeat she was already upon him.

Rolan met her attack with Armament Haki and Conqueror's Haki concentrated in his forearms, crossing them above his head. The impact drove him into the ground, pulverizing earth and rock. Still, he forced himself backward several paces.

He planted his right foot and with a surge of force launched both arms upward, propelling Big Mom backward with incredible strength.

Slowly rising, Rolan wiped blood from his lip with his thumb. Even he had to admit—Four Emperors strength was terrifyingly real.

He had underestimated her. A lion did not hunt a rabbit with anything less than full power.

Big Mom rolled through the air, landing on the ground without stirring. Rolan frowned, unsure what had happened.

A few breaths passed before her eyes rolled back to focus. With a sudden roar she loosed her weapon and began smashing anything within reach.

"Cake! Cake!"

She demolished the battlefield with wild abandon, even her own crew falling in her path.

The Big Mom Pirates watched in panic. They had seen the dreaded effects of her eating disorder before. Katakuri pushed himself upright from the rubble, wiping blood from his mouth as he turned toward her with concern.

"Mama's eating disorder is flaring up," he said grimly.

Kuro appeared near him.

"Peng Wing Blade."

Two bloody slashes opened on Katakuri's chest.

"Wait… wait, cough, cough."

Katakuri knelt, waving off Kuro's concern. The worry in Kuro's eyes showed he believed something was seriously wrong with their mother.

Rolan stared at the chaos, confusion twisting his brow. Big Mom had been composed, then suddenly gone berserk. Had her disorder truly erupted so violently?

He decided to test her condition. Gathering Conqueror's Haki around his right fist, he advanced and struck her face.

Bang.

Blood spurted from Big Mom's forehead as she flew backward.

Her eyes remained vacant.

Rolan struck again. His foot, imbued with both Conqueror's Haki and Armament Haki, smashed into her massive body.

Bang.

Big Mom crashed into the ruins of Cake Castle.

"Damn it! What has this Rolan done to Mama!"

"Mama!"

Shouts rang out as the remaining Big Mom Pirates bristled with rage.

"Hundred Blossoms Blooming: Hook Claws!"

"Screee!"

But before they could close in, they fell under the force of Rolan's controlled strikes.

"Rolan, die!"

A pink-hued figure charged from the ruins, agile and swift.

Rolan raised an eyebrow in slight surprise. The figure was a thinner, smaller form of Big Mom herself.

He activated his electromagnetic power, weaving Conqueror's Haki, Armament Haki, and electricity around his hand-blade in a flash of red and black lightning.

Using instant transmission he appeared before the smaller Big Mom, aiming a strike at her neck.

She had no neck.

Rolan shifted his blade into a fist mid-motion and drove it squarely into her glabella.

Bang.

Her movement stopped abruptly. Her eyes rolled back and she collapsed unconscious at Rolan's feet.
