Veronica's POV
Jameson looked completely shattered. He drew in a shaky breath before meeting my eyes.
"I have no idea who he is."
He was obviously holding something back.
"Jameson, you have to tell me the truth! Your father died under suspicious circumstances. We have to track down his killer and make them pay!" My expression hardened. "Right before he died, your father mentioned being watched. He couldn't reach out to me directly, so he used you and those flowers as a signal. You know who was keeping tabs on him, don't you?"
"I honestly don't know. All I can tell you is that someone was making threats against my dad," Jameson started remembering something from years back. "I think I was in middle school then. One afternoon when I got back from school, I heard voices coming from inside the house.
"I didn't walk in. Instead, I stayed outside and listened to this man threatening my dad. He warned that if he ever got mixed up with Ruth again, he'd kill him!
